Whilst Isadora was clearly in the wrong with her actions, she had good intentions but thought grief meant pain when it's not. Grief is about healing. However, the Keepers didn't reprimand her and just told her to stop. They didn't keep an eye on her or made sure her own mental health was stable. Both sides are guilty of something. It's basically Anakin and the Jedi.

techniqually it was san bakar not niam fetsgerald that cast the avada kedavra curse. niam was the headmistriss not headmaster due to being a woman while san bakar was a professor. it is understandable why he cast the curse because the entire school was in danger from isodora's spells. not to mention that isodora was clearly trying/planning on killing the headmistriss & 3 professors. there should be very rare occasions where the use of the killing curse should be allowed like when many people are in danger of being killed & there is no real time for a less drastic solution to be used. the turture & mind control curses not really. the killing, torture, & mind control curses were called unforgivable because they only have 1 form of funtion where as nearly all other spells have multiple uses. the only way the wand ban is ever going to be lifted is for enough wizards make a strong enough push that successfully removes it from law.

This part really surprised me, I expected San Bakar to get up and help out in the beam clash. I did not expect him to use a forbidden curse. But it was necessary. He did what had to be done. Isadora didn’t know the consequences of what she was doing. She was turning people into mindless puppets. San Bakar for the win! Fatality!!!

I was absolutely shocked when he did that. I learned none of the curses and was upset with Sebastian for what he did, so when this happened I couldn’t believe it. It made me question so many things.

You do realize San Bakar was not the headmaster of Hogwarts but the lady who got hurt in the fight, right? Her trial took place in the headmaster's office, you can't be more evident.

The curses Imperio, Crucio and Avada Kedabra were forbidden 1717. I don’t remember how, but I know these events happened during the Tudor Dynasty, so they were not unforgivable yet.

Making avada kedavra an "unforgivable curse" and punishing people for using it, has more effect in the universe than it woukd in real life.
In real life it would be about as effective as gun control, and youd still have badguys using it left and right, along with other killing spells.
How is what mrs weasly did to belatrix not an unforgivable curse?
And what about sectumsempra, and many other similar spells.

So wait, in theory (at this point), that big bubble of "negative emotion" is still underneath Hogwarts at the time Harry Potter and Jacob's sibling were attending Hogwarts?
Surely there has to be a way to get rid of it?
Maybe separating it into smaller receptacles and unleashing it elsewhere? Hopefully they will address this in the next one

I don't know if others will agree, but I understand if they have their own opinions so I'll just say my point of view.

While I can understand the feeling of not wanting people to suffer anymore, but stripping them of emotions is a line that should never be crossed.

Isidora may have had good intentions, but in the end she was corrupted by her own desire to not want others suffer anymore.

Percival and the others tried to reason with her, but Isidora was beyond reasoning.

Percival may have made the first move, but he wanted to protect the students from Isidora's madness.

For this taught me an important lesson.

Never let your desires consume you, for you will push away everything and everyone that matters the most to you.

People are comparing the Killing Curse with other spells. The difference is the intention required. If someone has to mean it and it is an unblockable spell, why wouldn't it be outlawed? The only effect the curse has is to cause death. Some other spells can have an effect that could cause death yes, but they have other uses. Just because you kill someone without using the killing curse doesn’t mean you don’t risk going to Azkaban.

Even firearms have more uses than the killing curse. If you have to really want to kill, dominate, or torture, what does that say about the spells? Ultimately, people just have put less care in concept of death because of it being common. Yes, as well, if you hit someone besides your intended target, they will die as well. Unless if you are careless, in most cases, they can save someone from dying from other spells. Wizards and Witches are much more durable than regular humans. As two people survived a direct explosion.

Plus, from what I watched, considering that she was caught off guard, there were many other spells the professor could have used that have taken her alive, he chose to kill her and given the look on his face which seemed rather malicious and the look on the other peoples face it was clear that they were attempting to capture her alive. Plus, too, magic users do terribly with multiple attackers so, if the other professors just aimed lower instead of adding to the struggle. 😅

The killing curse and the imperious curse should not be unforgivable because I don’t think they were created to do harm they may very well have been created to do the exact opposite people have used those two curses to save loved ones or others from evil forces yes they can be used for evil but they can also be used for good purposes as well as shown in the movies and game the torture curse or crucio however is a different matter all together

Im just going to point out that this took place in the 15th century (isodora and the keepers) avada kedavra wasnt made unforgivable until 1717 so, it was legal and free to use back then but was still heavily frowned upon. Just a little history lesson 😆

Good thing Sebastian didn't see that memory, or he'd definitely feel that his use of the unforgivable curses were justified.

I know he feels that Crucio and Imperio were justified already, but Avada Kedavra, not so much, unless you pushed him in that direction.
