How Dark Souls Perfected Difficulty in Video Games

OH AND BTW! This video doesn't include anything about Demon Souls, mostly because I still haven't been able to get a PS5 and I'm assuming I have to perform a dark ritual to even play one, so it didn't feel right talking about it. I'm sure the new Demon Souls fits my feelings towards the entire genre, but I figured I'd explain why I never mentioned it. MAN DO I WANNA PLAY DEMON SOULS THO :'(

The number 1 worst way to handle difficultt is just to increase enemy hp. Why do games do that?

ya the difficulty in dark souls is VERY VERY good. Its difficult cuz its hard, not tedious.

My biggest problem isn't the difficulty, its the fact that I get lost on missions (more specifically where to go)

Ive just recently got a ps5 and beat bloodborne and demon souls, with that being said im honestly very sad knowing that there wont be any more official souls games so ill most likely never enjoy a wait for a game so much again lol

The only other game that makes me feel this way is hollow knight after beating Pantheon 5

crazy how i had the exact same story i watched my friends play and thought damn this doesnt look fun and then when he beat the boss he was fighting i saw the satisfaction i didnt think much of it until i actually played the game and sure it was fustrating at parts put when i overcame the obsticles i felt an overwhelming amount of satisfaction and dopamine

High difficulty terraria has a similar effect for me, especially modded, only soulborne ive played was sekiro so i think its time for me to play the others

To everyone putting this game on a pedestal: play some NES games. Play the original Tropico on PC. I once read a review for Tropico that said "Tropico hates you and wants you to die".

The perfect game to go against Dark Souls would be Dauntless.
The difficulty is literally all numbers based, and it somehow creates a more hollowing experience than any of the DS games. In all the worst ways.

This video makes so much sense now. I just recently got Elden Ring in th esteam summer sale. I just beat Adula the Glintstone Dragon, and i still have about half the game ahead of me. And this is the first Fromsoft game i've played.

I hated darksouls from the community because all they say "its hard" and "get gud", but when i played it , i found out that its what i always wanted from video games but barely found it in any other games, the difficulty by design and not defficulty but numbers or health bars.
While god of war was an awsome game, the difficulty settings is not logical, if you put the game on hard you get killed by a drauger in 2 hits...a simple drauger killing the "god of war" in 2-3 hits is not logical and not fun, the hard difficulty in such game should make only the bosses smarter/have extra skills
