RUi TO 'Budget Sim' Handbrake [REVIEW] Worth it! But only at the right price!

At £50 I would snap this up but at £90, I'd spend an extra fiver and grab a Moza handbrake. Nice thing about the Moza one at this price point is the adjustibility it has. If this RUiTO one goes back down in price though, definitely worth consideration.

It's gone up even more. Goes to show how much they are using reviewers to provide them with advertising, so it's appreciated that you shared the original price and price at time of your review within the video.

I am pretty sure the plate is prone to fail sooner or later with or without any mods, as it is either too thin or made from the wrong material. The combination of constant bending forces and the material being to brittle lead to the fatigue fracture on my brake.
Lucklily, I have an aluminium extrusion rig and a huge box full of spare parts, so I was able to fix the load cell to the brake with some corner brackets and have been using it ever since without any problem. Maybe one day I'll design a stronger replacement bracket on my 3D printer and send the DXF files to a laser cutting service.

By the way, I switched the elastomer for a spring (norelem 9900473361) because the original elastomer had a tendency to "pop over" on its limit.

And yes, as you may notice by reading this: I do have a tendency to yank hard on my handbrake, especially in heated online DR2 WRX battles with a friend of mine. 🙂

Thanks to you I did buy this handbrake when it was 69e (i bought with elastomer+spring option) And i am really happy with it. Had no problems with bending, and still no need for mod, leaver goes all the way, probably elastomer option is too stiff for frame. Looking at price, the same handbrake i bought 133e at the moment. Biggest minus for me i really not a fan of chinese handles, why they make them so small.

That side to side flex is a bit much IMO. If there was a way to reinforce it...

Could you please recommend a shifter handbrake combo? I have two setups with fanatec csw 2.5 and csl dd wheels. One at a desk and one on an old obutto ozone rig. Flexible on price and brand but leaning towards value. Would like 3 devices H, sequential and handbrake for use on pc. I have a th8 shifter but that's it.

Exact same comment than Maltinis a bit earlier, bought mine at 69 € with the additional spring kit and no need to add the screw, the bottom of the loadcell doesn't move at all when pulling, probably worth to buy the optional spring kit if you're attaching it to a proper rig, plus it gives you different stiffness settings.
And I think the mod is indeed the reason why the holder broke on the picture, you totally change the force distribution by putting the screw at this place.
The only downside for me is the handle which is too short, changed it with a 130 mm gear knob and feels way better.
Otherwise great value for that price at the time, and yet it was only a month and a half ago, but now they've gone way too high on the price...

As I read in the AliExpress reviews, the manufacturer has reacted to the issues with the load cell mounting plate and uses a stronger material in the current revision.
Too bad they did not response to my request for replacement parts.

Anyway, I sold the handbrake and got myself a Sim-Lab XB1 instead. 🙂

I got one. It's just a misunderstanding, not a handbrake. It's just fucked up. I'm trying to get it back.

Mine has been performing wonderfully (purchased the Simubox Variant). However yesterday the elastomer actually split in use, so I ordered a HE brake elastomer set, and at that point I think this is one of the best handbrakes on the market as the feel will only improve with the new elastomers, on the plus side I can also make it a little softer to simulate a more natural feeling brake rather than having all force applied almost instantly.

As this handbrake has the same rj connector that fanatec uses on its wheelbase for its handbrake.
Would it work if it was plugged directly into a fanatec dd base ?

can i convert this into a brake pedal?
