"Det stornordiska riket" certainly looks like it was created by a non-Swede. It feels way more natural to just call it "Stornordiska riket" in the indefinite form. I mean, is it called The United Kingdom, or just "United Kingdom" (in-game). Is it "The United States" or just "United States/USA"?

Even apart from this parallels, it sounds way more natural to my ears to just call it "Stornoridska riket" (I would honestly make it one word, but I digress), it just sounds much better.
