Thanks for the video! It covered everything I needed to get this done.
ОтветитьIt will discharge capacitor in 15 min if it have "bleed resistor" on it. If not, then you need to use screwdriver or resistor (not sure how many Ohm)
ОтветитьWhat can or will happen if you do not defuse the capacitor?
ОтветитьOpened up my pool this year and the motor was dead. The earliest anyone could come out to replace it was 7 to 10 days. All I could think of was 10 days of hot, humid weather and what my pool would look like without any circulation. Thanks to your video I replaced the motor myself the next day!
ОтветитьHi to all at INYO. Thanks for a great video, easy to follow and very informative. Changed my pool motor with no hassle. THANK YOU all again.Happy and cool in Spain.
ОтветитьI have a Hayward super pump
ОтветитьI have a Hayward super pump motor number. c48L2N134B1 I am HAVING DIFFICULTY FINDING THE SAME NUMBER CAN SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE?
ОтветитьThanks, everything was great - except my Haywood Super Pump doesn't have an impeller ring and was later confirmed by my local pool store, after I'd bought one for a 1 hp pump and found it didn't fit. Still, excellent video - pump started right up properly....
ОтветитьYou guys are so awesome - thanks. I am tiered of paying through the nose for what amounts to be swapping out an innertube on my kids bicycle.
Ответитьhow do you short the capacitors? the pump has not been running for two weeks
ОтветитьJust watched your video.. This is exactly what I am trying to do. >Thanks for the detailed instructions. Only one thing which I could not follow. I am replacing shaft seal 37400-0027. I wanted to know the orientation of the second part of the shaft seal. Does the metal side of the second part face the white ceramic seal or does the rubber side face the white ceramic seal while loading it on the impeller. Please respond. Thanks.
ОтветитьThanks a bunch. I had a marathon pump but basically the same
ОтветитьGreat Video, Thank you. Just replaced my motor and everything is working great!
ОтветитьWhat if the motor won't come out of the housing? Mine seems stuck.
ОтветитьWhat was the frame size of that motor you were working on on the video
ОтветитьI had a 1.5 HP pump replaced by a local pool guy with another 1.5 HP pump and it kept overheating. He blamed my plumbing and I didn’t know enough to challenge him on it since this was my first pool. Thanks to you guys, I figured out that my old pump was actually 1.9 “total” HP (because of the 1.3 Service Factor), and now with this video, I replaced my motor myself and I can’t tell you how thrilled I am with it. Thank you!!!
ОтветитьJust installed ours before seeing your video. Our pump is running great but is extremely hot to touch. Is this normal or is something wrong?
ОтветитьThanks but my impeller is a bitch to get off. Been trying for 2hrs
ОтветитьThanks INYo Pools, you saved us a lot of money watching this video. Our new energy efficient motor is so very quite! Also had the best price on it and the free shipping really helped too. Again Thank You!!
ОтветитьThank you very informative and clear
ОтветитьThanks for taking the time make this video. It helped me out tremendously.
ОтветитьI know this is a video that has been up for awhile. I was left babysitting my sister's pool for the summer, so of course, the pump had to break down on my watch. This video , along with your trouble shooting videos have been a great help. My brother-in-law in Florida and INYO pools videos and I have been on "conference calls". Great Instructions Thanks so much
ОтветитьWell done helpful video Thanks
ОтветитьExcellent video and very helpful. Your video was for me easy to follow and understand thank you.
ОтветитьThis was perfect for me when I got to the part about getting the impeller off the shaft - saved me time figuring that out for myself. Excellent video., thanks.
ОтветитьWhat kind of grease do I buy to replace the seals kit? Thank You Antoinette
ОтветитьVery good how to video
ОтветитьThis is the one! So helpful!
ОтветитьThis will help a great deal. Thanks
ОтветитьToo bad you skipped installing the shaft seal.
ОтветитьThis is a pretty bad video. Half the time, what you're doing is out of frame. And you should show how to short out the capacitor.
ОтветитьThanks guys! This video is fantastic! I wrote a short version of the steps on paper and used it to remove and replace the 2 HP motor.
If you are hesitating or unsure of being able to do this, review the video 2 - 3 times and get comfortable with the steps. You will save money.
I estimated 2 hours and it was just under that. Removing the old motor was fast and disassembling (less than 25 minutes). However, I ran into the wire stripping rework and paced myself to ensure my son and I got it right.
I suggest stripping the electrical wires to expose new copper. It made it a lot easier to tighten and secure screws.
Many thanks for the video!!!!
My pool guy suggested I replace the motor on my own. This video was so comprehensive and easy to understand that I took the challenge. Thank you for this.
ОтветитьJust replaced my motor, easy once I had the right tools (needed larger channel locks for impeller). However, mine did not have a bonding wire, is that an older technology?
ОтветитьWhat an ordeal.
ОтветитьI'm trying to replace a Marathon. Is there a reason why it won't just unbolt from the pool pump housing? I unbolted the 4 bolts but it will not separate. Are they designed differently or is there a trick to getting them off?
ОтветитьYou don’t need to unscrew the capacitor, you can slide the 7/16 wrench from the top.
ОтветитьOk so now I know how to replace and rewire a pool pump motor. Item # 600 on the list of things I never thought I would need to know when I bought a house. Perfect video.
ОтветитьPerfect video for a first timer. Super easy and a great step by step. Thank you for putting this together.
ОтветитьThat is Capacitor not compasitor
ОтветитьI'm in the process of replacing an old and rusty Century pool pump motor which I inherited with the house I purchased recently. Upon disassembling the pump housing which is a Sta Rite unit, I noticed that the impeller did not have a plastic ring around it as shown in your video. Is this normal, as I ordered a bunch of replacement parts on Amazon for my rebuild, but cannot find a ring for the Pentair C105-236P type impeller.
ОтветитьMy power wires are 1L, 2L and ground cables but my motor is 1 hot, 1 neutral and 1 ground line. Motor says it’s a 230V. How do I connect it?
ОтветитьWith this video being made 11 years ago, is it still recomended to short the capacitor? I asked a couple of my electrician friends and they said don't do it.
ОтветитьEn Español por Favor
ОтветитьThank you for such clear and concise and easy to understand instructions for this somewhat complicated procedure.
ОтветитьDo all pool pump motor shafts have a bolt/screw in the middle front for the impeller? I noticed a few vids on here that didn't show any when doing a motor swap.
ОтветитьThank you. Informative video. Successfully installed my pump.
ОтветитьYou know, putting those bonding wires under the lug like that is a code violation. In an instance where you have two separate wires you need to attach them to one another using a split bolt connector and THEN put on of the leads into that bonding lug. A contiguous wire is also ok if you use an open style lug but what you did here is a big no-no and as an inspector I would fail that pool.
ОтветитьStep 1) Call pool technician
Step 2) Let him do the job
Step 3) Pay him
