In games you need more than one life to win.

I always did this in School. Ppl thought I was weird for making things more complicated than they are and flashing out mundane tasks or inventing some nonexistent progress bar.
Well I graduated best of my school because of it and it felt extremely easy and natural.

I can only say that this Method really does work. And other methods work too! If you suffer yourself through your daily life every day without finding any meaning or progress it's on you and you can change that.
It's all about habits. If you make a habit out of making everything engaging and interesting your life will be a cakewalk.

All my stats are 1 and I got stuck on nightmare difficulty. The backstory would be funny if it wasn't so tragic. I want to just log off every day and my character doesn't get out of bed, it just lags. I've asked the devs for help but they don't care, no customer support or anything.

Ah this is why other people like quests. The clear goal they are working towards. I have always been very self motivated and motivated by learning on my own. Like that is fun for me. But others don't feel that way. Right and the prize people want they try. Where as if you know what you want and you get it you are happy. This alone might make me a bad general video game creator...

I just now realized that most of the time I spent playing games when I was younger involved skill upgrades and crafting mechanics. I work in a factory full time and when I’m off my children and I build survival kits, practice basic combat skills. My wife also gets involved by making ammo and medicine.

I did this a long time ago, i turned my life into a sims game and started a business. Try it and take the chance thats the hardest part. You can always find the same job you already mastered before as a fall back job. Start small and keep upgrading! You only have one life give it a shot.

Let’s face it. Every single one of us video gamers say “one more time” or “a little more”… 100% of the time we know we need to get off the game.

I like sandbox simulators for things I’m already interested in, like cars, planes, construction equipment, tanks. BeamNG, Sprocket, Truck Simulator, the various dogfighting plane games etc. I pay no attention to progression mechanics in my game. It’s about the experience of operating the machine.

It’s crazy, when I was in middle school I had thought about something like this when playing persona 3.
