1. their assertion that labour cost is high in Pakistan is incorrect. we have the lowest wages and salaries in the region, if we didn't we wouldn't have the purchasing power issue that they also mention
2. yes, higher taxes is a very valid reason, but that explains only a part of the extra cost
3. they said economies of scale and mentioned India and China levels. Brothers, no country in the world has the scale of India and China. It is not a valid excuse because industries smaller than my living room can sell cheaper than they do in Pakistan
4. Currency devaluation is a valid reason. But if they are bearing no costs and passing on no benefits to the consumers for 40 years, why should we care that these cars are made in the country as opposed to imported entirely? Why should we pay more so that they can get richer?
