When applying for a new credit card, if you already have a credit card with that bank, do you recommend referencing your credit score that is shown in that bank's portal? For example, you're applying for another Amex card so you would check the credit score shown in your Amex portal.

On Experian, it shows thay my dads credit score is only a 571, but on credit karma and a few other places, it shows his is 720+. Its so confusing because some places we go to says his credit is great, but others say its very poor. We went to a kia dealership to try and get him a car and didnt get approved for a 20k car, but went somewhere else and got approved for a car listed at 35k

My Vantage score 3 has been the lowest of all of my scores, and the most difficult one to increase. It's in the 788 range, whereas most of my FICO scores are well above 800 (820-840). I have never had a Vantage 3 score above 790, and I pay everything on time with no missed payments, no revolving debt, etc. My guess is that it's because I don't have a mortgage.

Ahh I love credit. I am not kidding I have like 8 credit cards, getting my first as young as 18. I have use what I can afford pay them full every statement and so far I have around 75,000 in credit utilization. In the long run my questionable actions to open so many credit cards (hard enquiry's) affect me, but it come with the age. once I get my 13 credit cards I can relax from opening credit cards and get those pesky hard enquiries taken care of by time. The only reason I'm so in love with credit, yet really terrified about it, is becauseof my mom terrible handlig of card by treating her cards as if it was money she had. Now she has 25000 in debt, the average of most americans. So from that I got curios to learn more about it my self, and after how simple is not to get hit terrible debt I open my first 5000 dollar credit card and was just mesmerise on opening more. No a single late payment from then on every 8 cards.

In conclusion to what I'm saying is don't be scared of credit cards. You have the power to benefit from the banks by not trapping yourself in their game of claims of "zero intro APR" or "no late fees penaltys for a year". Don't be full and be wise on getting that credit card. I wish I was younger wend I got my card but it isn't late yet for you guys credit journey!

PS* GOD I LOVE CREDIT!

All these different score is just to confuse you and keep you chasing rainbow cause none of it is accurate at all. Credit Karma is a scam, don't trust anything from them. They sell advertisement so they have a incentive to sell you something. I have Navy Federal credit union so I use them cause I have a relationship with them

Why are you penalized for using a 0% 6 year loan instead of spending my own money. Credit score went from 840 to 811 rediculous.

Credit Karma was cool asf., until I found out my score on Credit Karma is significantly lower then when I go to the actual Exprian site. I dont get it because its my Experian, Equifax and TransUnion. I was happy though because whatever I may have on Credit Karma, on the Experian I know its gonna be a lot higher.

Credit scores are a racket. Example, a few years back I pulled my reports and read them in detail. 1 of the 3 literally said to improve my score it will need a longer credit history and more activity. The history was 32 years of not a single late payment. It appears you get punished for not using credit as well. That is when I stopped thinking about as it is all a scam.

my FICO 8 scores from experian is 34 and 47 points higher than my Vantage 3 scores on credit karma with pretty close reporting, meaning one is not waiting on a monthly credit card report. Way different from your scores. I pay credit card statement every month but usually have several thousand show up in balances. I never use bank cards, only credit cards and cash. I also pay all bills with credit cards if possible to get cash back or miles.

Interesting how different it is for different people. I refinanced my house a couple years ago and got 2.0% for 15 years. I paid all the credit cards down one month and didn't use them to jack my score up for the loan.

it is absolutly stupid to have so many different credit scores regardless of the reason they create them one credit score that encompasses all relevant information needed should be created! How is a person to keep up with so many demands! Im not a Biden fan but I think his idea of doing away or revamping the credit system is long over due!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's crazy, experian gives the highest score, and Trans union gives the lowest, equifax is in the middle.

So, why aren't the credit reporting agencies sending us a monthly check, since they are accumulating our personal data monthly! Not to mention, the credit score They Assign, affects every aspect of our financial life.

Who do they have to make things so complicated. Why can’t it just be simple. Oh wait. They want to confuse the normal person. Federal needs to mark it a mandatory one scoring standard.

My credit scores are always in the 800 range. I never have a credit utilization rate of over 3% and all cards are paid off monthly, as soon as my monthly statement is available I pay it off. I did get to 845 one time and then the next month it dropped to 830. Why? who the hell knows.
