this makes me wonder if republicans and democrats are secretly in cahoots to ensure that no matter which side we choose, we lose.
ОтветитьIn the final scene of the age of dark ending you can see ten serpents, resembling ten fingers grasping around the player. This might be me reaching but I'm definitely seeing a thematic connection to the 2 and 3 fingers from Elden Ring. In dialogue one NPC mentions that the 2 and 3 fingers were once part of the One Great, perhaps implying the connection between Frampt and Kaathe back in Dark Souls 1 as well.
ОтветитьSuccession of witches playing as the music gets this a like.
ОтветитьFrampt looks like a decaying animatronic character from a defunct roadside attraction that's been locked in a damp broom closet for the past 40 years.
ОтветитьCombined with the FF8 music this was a great short video
ОтветитьI jump attacked frampt and saw the end of his neck. Something I was never meant to see and hope I never see again.
ОтветитьPoliticians are often depicted as snakes, too...
ОтветитьWhere'd the music come from for this one?
ОтветитьGod they're gross looking
ОтветитьI love the choice of using here sir. 👍
ОтветитьI've always viewed them both as one being, which poetically reflects light and dark being the opposite end of another while still being the same thing.
ОтветитьDUDE IS LITERALLY A SNAKE that’s so cool, the idea of Frampt / Kaathe being the same being or being a part of the same body is fascinating
ОтветитьAn interesting theory, because lore seems to support it.
Spoilers ahead:
In Dark Souls 3, and sadly I just can't remember which item had the description, there's a lore paragraph describing how zealous followers of Kaathe went out to kill Frampt, and as a result, Kaathe also died. I can't recall the exact quotation, but to paraphrase, they were two sides of the same coin.
However, I could be remembering this completely incorrectly. I haven't looked at DS3 lore in years; it's possible this may have come from a video theory elsewhere.
Either way, it's something I remember and recall vividly. I feel inclined to believe it's somewhere in an obscure lore description - but by the gods, I just can't remember which one....
so this thing is like Long Horse?
ОтветитьThe thought of a Hydra that has near infinitetly long necks with a body... *somewhere*... really invokes a feeling of Eldritch Horror...
Like the False Hydra in D&D.
Didn't think about that at all but sort of love it
ОтветитьThe way both of them introduce themselves may provide a bit of evidence to your theory: "I am THE Primordial Serpent" not "A Primordial Serpent" I know that's a lingual technicality, but there's been vague-er lore hints in Fromsoft games. Plus the idea of some being that existed before recorded history dwelling deep within the earth and extending countless heads infinitely outward to influence surface dwellers is really cool, like how fungi create fruiting bodies in order to spread.
ОтветитьLong necks sticking out of one body from some uncertain point of origin? Immediately made me think about the "false hydra" from dnd and over of the most terrifying games i had
ОтветитьSecret final boss, you have to fight the kingseeker hydra lol
Ответитьmy own head-canon is that the Primordial serpants are a collective being similar to Lovecrafts Elder gods and they are simply f-ing around the people of the dark souls universe for their own petty reasons.
ОтветитьThose serpents remind me of the two-headed monster in Willow ... the one based on film critics Siskel and Ebert
ОтветитьI am wondering what happened to the Primordial serpents in the rest of the dark souls trilogy
ОтветитьThis was outstanding! I’ve been waiting so long for you to talk on these dudes
ОтветитьThat is, truly, an interpretation I've never seen before, and not necessarily a bad one.
ОтветитьI mean, while having never played the game, the Great Serpents look like sock puppets.
ОтветитьThe Ringed City DLC in DS3 shows the full body of the primordial serpents, they have statues of them. Just didn't know if you knew that.
Ответить“Playing both sides is the oldest game in politics”
Apparently so, given that I did it even as a child. Of course it was about as subtle as a child could manage
Just the thought alone of facing multiple primordial serpents in the same dark void, chills me to the core, picturing those eyes watching me from the dark, dozens of demonic looking snakes lurking in the shadows with their slithering, impossibly long necks...
ОтветитьIs there a canon reason why they can talk without lips?
ОтветитьThat's a cool theory. I remember on my first playthrough thinking they were like an ouroboros until they revealed that there were a bunch more.
ОтветитьSTOP SHOWING THE STILL ART ITS SOMEHOW WORSE 😭😭😭
ОтветитьI am not sure about the Primordial Hydra theory. In Ds3, before the doors of the Archives in Lothric's Castle and the room before you fall into the hole & fight Midir in the Ringed City, you can see statue of the Primodial Serpeants(I am unsure if its Frampt or Kaathe). Although if you dan't wanna get cursed, I suggest you don't look onto them at all.
ОтветитьI always thought that since they were all there at the end that's what was implied.
ОтветитьThats a rly fun theory, then DS3 and cheats came into play
ОтветитьOkay I just had the mental image of this hypothetical body lurking deep underground and nope nope nope nope fuck that im out 😂 It’s a great theory but Goddamn that’s a spooky mental image.
ОтветитьOMG I ALWAYS THOUGHT THEYRE WERE CONNECTED
ОтветитьMaybe they're just good sports :D
ОтветитьThey've got the same bad dental plan
ОтветитьIf I remember right the serpents are related to the dragons somehow so that could make sense
ОтветитьOk from now on the kingseekers are a False Hydra in my mind. They even have the face for it already.
ОтветитьGod I am so fucking addicted to your voice
ОтветитьI remember a theory that said exactly this waaaaay back when I was crazy into Dark Souls. Save the Hydra part, it was mostly the "Frampt and Kathe are the same serpent, and they don't really give a shit who wins in the end they'll serve happily the Gods or the player"
ОтветитьAnd considering they're voiced by the same actor, too... I think you might have hit the nail right on the head. It certainly lines up with a bunch of my own crackpot theories. XD
ОтветитьAbout that theory of yours, there's a shield in the game that hints at it: the caduceus round shield. It depicts a snake with 2 heads, facing opposite directions.
The shield contains precious lore about the age of ancients and it is said to be made of archtree wood, so it's important enough to exclude a "random design" explanation. Sooo... Yeah, it's safe to say that even if the theory is not proper Canon, it is definitely considered as a possible, intended interpretation.
...Huh. So dang neat that this game can still inspire new, fresh and yet logical theories after so many years.
Heck, it would actually even explain why the otherwise barely even hinted on Hydras are even in the game at all. They're clearly a relation to dragons, since they drop scales, but there's just... no info about them, despite being one of only five boss monsters that repeat. And gargoyles are explicitly divinely forged servants, while the demons are born of the Bed of Chaos and get an entire area semi-elaborating on them. Almost seems... suspicious, once you actually consider how complete that absence of info is.
You mean the slimy manipulative backstabbing snakes might have been slimy manipulative backstabbing politicians all along ? Yeah no that checks out
Ответитьwhat if they knew that the Age of Dark and Age of Fire are a circle, so even if one or the other wins, it will always loop, there will always be a binary choice (until ds2/ds3) so it doesnt matter which one of them wins
ОтветитьHydra esque, the long serpent like necks descend down far more than should be physically possible on and on joining together in something that could be called a body but would drive any normal person insane at the sight of it. Alive in its own right, divided and whole
ОтветитьConsidering all the serpent's are the exact same I-
ОтветитьAn almost as creepy false hydra
Ответить
