is this guy seriously that into himself? or is it his personality and just joking around? I got thru 2 videos and he has some legit points on things but trillionaire or not a lack of humility to this degree is not even worth having that much $ because if this is his actual personality no one would want to spend five minutes with him. They will but only because he has Trillions? so he says. I hope I'm wrong and he's a nice guy of humility and integrity. Money can't buy you those things guys. That's lesson #1. best to all.

- Dopamine works like a drug - you build tolerance, requiring more to get the same high. Things that once motivated you stop working.

- A "dopamine detox" helps reset your brain's baseline dopamine levels so small amounts motivate you again.

- To do a dopamine detox:

1) Delete/remove social media and games from your phone. Put phone on airplane mode.

2) Cut out activities that release a lot of dopamine like TV, games, browsing the internet.

3) Do a short complete fast or cut out dopamine-triggering foods.

4) Re-add dopamine activities slowly later so you don't trigger addiction again.

5) Develop rules to prevent breaking the detox. The first few days are hard but it gets easier as your brain rewires.

6) Motivation returns for things like work, reading, exercise after 3-5 days. The detox re-sensitizes your dopamine receptors.

Dopamine is binary function, 1 and 0 ... So it doesn't matter where ir comes from

Therefore choose good ways to get dopamine. Not cheap ways like music,porn,fast food

Example chocolate vs cold shower both give dopamine but one is cheap


Why brain does this because it lives in present . It wants to be happy and cheap dopamine is easy. Brain is efficient. You want to train yourself for expensive dopamine

When you sre detoxing like the exponential rule you fill see no result and it will be really difficult until you do 90% of total. And that is something like a 100 hours for most things. So if you abstain for 3 4 days things will start to become easier

Also to get off cheap sources of dopamine you need 3 4 days and totally 10 to 25 days. Plus you want to kickstart it with a long fast, long meditation etc thing so you don't want to restart this process because it will kind of suck. Even no restarting ritual atleast it will take time to get off this

Going minimalist will actually be difficult in early few days. First 3 to 5 days are hell . Also remember you don't see any results until 90% work is done. E.g cooking building etc anything

Just go minimalist and simply don't do anything. This is important. Distracting kind of doesn't work with dopamine because you will always come back to it. Rule is to bore yourself to death by DOING NOTHING.
So no social media, junk food etc

A simple of feeling good/ doind detox is not overdoing what you enjoy. But actually not doing what you enjoy.

Remember with that 90% rule(exponential rule)there is another rule , 80% rule. You have to be consistent atleast 80% . Otherwise you won't reach 90%.

You can do this cyclically.

Now you have done this. You have 2 things to do
1. Set rules so you don't get addicted again.time and place
E.g if you eat junk food again everyday you will develop same intolerance and you have to do this rehab again. So have a rule like maybe every week once is enough. Whatever works for you. Remember like everything Dopamine Has a time and a place.

2 . Set your environment you don't get sucked into it. And reinforcement schedule if you do it.
Again rules help with these but having traffic signals at intersection automatically reinforce safe driving even if you don't stop.and if you don't stop you get a fine. Thus Here again have apps that stop you from mindless scrolling , no notification on phone, time blocker on phone, and if you still do it negative reinforcement. If you eat junk food when you shouldn't have don't eat anything the next time plus some extra exercise would do. Punishment should be constructive.
