Blurring the line between intuitives and sensors -- yes! I think I am actually more attracted to ISTP than INTP (I'm INFJ) because I've tended more towards practically over theoretics as I've been leaning into my Se.

That staying active thing is so literally true. When I was married, my husband went out of his way to make sure I could never go out on a walk, with or without our child(ren), even just to go do the grocery shopping- even though it angered him to go, too. And, he'd freak out if I danced or did any exercise. And, that really screwed up my health. It's not the cause of my ill health, all told, but it certainly degraded it by an exceptional amount. I need to be both physically and mentally active and I need to be out in nature and I am so not out in nature right now. I'm in Tucson. And, no one here understands how badly I need an outdoor space and a work space. Whine , whine, complain!

ISTPs, I want to know something. When you have an itch on your arm, where/how do you scratch? I am wondering if the way I do it is an ISTP thing or just a me thing. Because, I've had a lot of complaints from people.

Most people I've seen kind of lightly rub their fingertips on a general area, not knowing where the itch is. Or, maybe get a little bit of fingernail, lightly involved where they find the itch to be but are still mostly just rubbing around.

I just get my finger into position where the itch actually is, and do one moderately hard, decisive stroke, which usually takes care of it. But, if it migrates, I do a series with more fingers to get the rest of it. And, it freaks people right out. Apparently, "no one knows where an itch actually is, at least not until they rub the general area." Freaks them out even worse when I do it to their arm and, based on their search pattern, get the right spot. Or, reach over and scratch their scalp where it has begun itching in the same place it also itched at the same time interval after they did the thing they just did the last time. Or, the last time the temperature changed. Or whatever.

Is that just me? I mean, literally, it can't be just me. I have read or watched something that had, maybe, three different people who did that same sort of thing. But, is it an ISTP thing?

Sometimes people try to help me but I prefer to do the work by myself . I don't trust them to do it the way I want it to be done unless I teach them 😅
But when it's something I'm not familiar with I'll be open to learn and accept the help

As an INTJ I enjoy hanging out with ESTP, ISTP in social situations. They bring out a playful side in me that I have a difficult time accessing. I find it interesting that we have similar conclusions

ISTP sounds more OP than they are, this is why we are humans. My friend is an ISTP who went through a breakup, became depressed and unmotivated to do anything. IDEK how he is, we lost contact.

That is so me, an ISTP-T, mistyped as ENFJ-A, the very opposite MBTI, of how and what I saw in myself, as that would explain my favorite childhood character, Emerl the Gizoid (ISTP), from Sega’s Sonic Battle (GBA), was and still is my most relatable robot, in all of Sonic the Hedgehog!

Don’t give too much to this type by speaking in binary. Between what is and what is not. This type lacks the ability to see what can be….the lack of understanding or disrespect of possibilities leaves ISTP’s intellectually out in the cold 🥶. If you lack vision you rarely create much you just play or (tinker) with what masters with vision create. This personality type also lack patience, wisdom, and imagination. Logic and manipulation only get you so far.

I know *NTJ types get a rap for thinking we’re never wrong, but I can produce hard data for my ISTP friend and he still won’t accept it if it means saying No to what his Se wants at some point.

At first I was like “I can’t possibly be ISTP!! I talk a lot to people and it’s not too difficult for me to share experiences and my feelings with them” and then I remembered that before actually going out with my now university friends, I had to eye them for a year or more. And as I know them for 4 years already, only now do I share smth personal with them. I say “I’m not that good with tools” and then I remember I’m the one fixing the doors and repairing clothing.

I do know that a soul of a person can’t possibly be fit in only one of 16 given variants. But hell, sometimes you read it and a lot checks out. I hope I don’t look like one of horoscope maniacs from the side though.

I’m an ENFP with an ISTP older brother. I admire him in a lot of ways. He’s private about his feelings & experiences but keeps in touch well with our extended family.

He’s action-oriented, level-headed, straight to the point & quick on his feet. I’ve grown to love getting straight to the point myself, to the point where I have to think of filler words when emailing, lol.

For him, personally, he needs to work on his delivery when communicating because sometimes it comes across as a little insensitive. He’s also a litttttttttttle explosive at random times, but he’s an overall cool dude.

Im grateful to say i can temper my personality so that i can function within the world properly and give proper care to the ones i care for

As an ISTP, I can say I'm equally drawn to the INFPs as they are to me. I can easily get a crush on an INFP. Just read some of your poetry in my ear or play me your guitar or whatever else you probably do, and I'm game. It might not last long tho.

I take the MBTI every 2 years or so, and for the last 10+ years I have been an INJF, until today I am suddenly ISTP. Interestingly enough, I have also switched careers from art/design to software engineering within the last year and a half. No doubt about it though, I can build/make absolutely anything...

i have taken 16 personalities test like 4-5 times and the result was istp. i am female fyi, and i am not at all that physical with my hands. i don't go aroung bulding stuff or breaking them and putting them back. help am i really an istp?

My brother is INFP and my mom ENFP, I'm ISTP. At first we thought my brother was istp, but hell nah, also (nothing related to it, i think) my brother is overly emotional, and my mother kind of talkative and dramatic at times and drives me crazy.

As an ISTP, I thought I had mental problems before I discovered this MBTI thing and was shocked about how accurate it was.

I don't know if this is just me but i have terrible trust issues maybe its just me but I feel like I'm always lying to other people about things to get out of situations. tbh I don't really care to lie but sometimes when I do I can hurt someone In a way I didn't know. maybe its just me with my life but if other istps feel at least I'm not making random shit up

Shades of grey and ranges for where things fall are fine, its just how the world works. Its when people manipulate the information to misrepresent whats going on that pisses us off. "Bobby is seeing Kate" is a lot different from "I saw Bobby and Kate get a coffee at the hospital & decided to gossip about it because I'm a d-bag of a human. I know that Bobby and Kate just happened to bump into each other at the blood drive but hey I'm pissy about something & now its my mission to cause drama". We don't like manipulation and lies.

My ISTP friend not only dislikes shades of grey, he often goes on a rant about how useless the word "but" is and that it hinders proper communication 😂
