Ive got a 112 auto, 55, and 110 pro select in micarta..how much fun is it to carve with em
ОтветитьUse the 112 Slim as part of my work EDC for awhile and really appreciate it. Also own the 110 Slim but gravitate more towards the 112 for every day use at work 😉 thanks for sharing
ОтветитьHa. You were just North of us here. Quick question. So we were just camping in the Sawtooth's in Idaho and my kids, 9 and 7, finally asked "hey, when do we get to have a knife?" So on the drive back I was thinking about first folders for kids. I first handled a Buck 110 way back in 1984 when I was really young, around 5. So I was thinking a 110 might be a little much for their small hands with that full length backlock. So then I started thinking about a 112. Then I remembered the Buck 722 Spitfire. The Spitfire is also made here in Idaho, is a budget option if they were to lose it, has orange metal handles, is light and slim, has a mid-length sturdy backlock, has a pocket clip and is 420HC which is easy to maintain. I began thinking of other budget friendly categories like the Spyderco Delica and Dragonfly (maybe not so budget friendly), Kabar Dozier (not made in the USA and it's AUS8) and Swiss Army Knife options. The only negative of the 112 slim, Delica, Dragonfly, Dozier and SAK's are that they all have plastic handles. So not sure what to do. Maybe I'll just have them pick. But I like the idea of the 722 Spitfire as a first folder with it being all metal, slim, orange, Made in USA and affordable. If you have any input that would be great.
ОтветитьVery nice brother ❤
ОтветитьOutstanding review!
ОтветитьFor the price point you get one of the best warranties on the market. The 110 Slim and 112 are nice, but for around the same price the Spitfire would be a better knife. Spitfire is just a tougher knife and the blade shape is just as useful as the classic Buck clip point blade.
ОтветитьToday I received mine and I'm very satisfied with. Buck succesfuĺy eliminated the extra weight of the original model, added a pocket clip eliminated the leather sheat's weight as well!
Great job Buck, congrats!👍
I have to say that it does feels very cheap in hand especially when closing……but won’t doubt it’s durability.
ОтветитьGrew up in Idaho. Carried a pocket knife since I was 8 years old. My Buck is the 301, stockman. A stockman has always been the right tool for the job.
ОтветитьI hate spine lock knives, the Buck onset is a far superior product in both steel and lock.
ОтветитьEDC...110 Auto, 119 Cocobolo w/Brass and 110 Slim Pro TRX, Smith and Wesson boot knife...sometimes I'll swap out with K-Bar Black Full size Fighting knife or the BK2, but 99% of the time I'll have a Buck somewhere. 🙂 I also carry a handmade customized Panawal Dotted Supreme Khukuri 10" blade and would carry it more, but don't care for either sheath that came with it. I'm rambling....nice video.
ОтветитьI've just ordered a 112 , and I'm looking forward to getting it 😊
ОтветитьThe 110 slim is nice but my only gripe was the blade centering
ОтветитьBenchmade Bugout for a lot of money- this is the better solution!
Ответить110 is a great blade
ОтветитьI have a Buck 110 and The Buck 110 auto. The 110 was the knife. I do say the Buck 112 slim brings Buck into the new age of knives. And although most of us who are knife hoarders have become steel snobs, 420HC was great steel for a 100 years or more and got the job done. Nice review. I dare say I prefer knives for daily carry with either a Spyderco type compression lock, Axis lock, or Demko’s new shark Lock. 😊
ОтветитьGreat review! Thanks!
ОтветитьMy buck knives skin animals never would I cut wood with it unless I absolutely had to
ОтветитьI have had the 112 (red) since they came out. Handiest knife I have. I recently got the 110 same. You can’t go wrong with either.
ОтветитьI don't believe in a plastic body of this type of lockback knives...it almost always springs.
ОтветитьDo you think these knives would appeal to the new British King or would a regular brass and wood 110 be better?
ОтветитьOwn both and currently edc a 110 slim select paired with a pre 1986 buck 303 cadet bought from a flea market. Love buck qaulity and USA made gear.
ОтветитьJust bought the 112. 420hc $40. Perfect!!
ОтветитьAre you reviewing a knife or are you reviewing a nature drink. Once you got to your advertisements I turned you off.
ОтветитьI’m just curious about your thoughts on the Buck Slim Series of knives after almost one year? Has your opinion of the Slim 110 or 112 changed? Looking forward to the updated comments. Go bless and enjoy everyday. - Tennessee Smoky
ОтветитьI work in excavation and foundation waterproofing. Most knives don't do the job I need them to do everyday on-site.
I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the 112 slim out performed many much more expensive knives.
You can't beat this knife, especially for the price. A great beater!!!
This needs to be my addendum to the "Two is one, and one is none" concept. This knife along with my 119Special-Pro Bowie will serve my needs till I am back safe at home.
ОтветитьShout out from caldwell idaho
ОтветитьBought buck110, 110 slim and 112 slim because of this video, my wallet hates you 🤪
ОтветитьWould you say, the old buck is also the new? I'll explain, some folks say simply
"Buck ain't what it use to be"
The buck 110 you have won't last as long as the one your granddaddy had for 30 years, thoughts? I personally am on the fence with agreement and disagreement
I wish they would be metal lined and a tighenable main rivet. But great value classy blade.
ОтветитьAside from my ''super tinker, the 112 Slim might be the best EDC knife I've ever owned. Like everybody else, I'm not crazy about the pocket clip, but I'm not going to spend $20 on an aftermarket pocket clip for a $30 knife.
ОтветитьI'm just ordering one now. Perfect.
ОтветитьYou have to dumb version with pins and not screws and the huge ugly pocket clip. Glad I waited until this year.
ОтветитьGreat knife. Inconsistent quality control and I wish the clip was more attractive. But for the material quality, the lockup, and US made, it's a deal for a use it to death knife. And the clip may be ugly, but it works better than a LOT of knife clips. And as a lefty, I love some symmetrical design. I do see complaints about the handle to blade ratio. I definitely get it with how relatively short the cutting edge is. But in practice, the geometry of that blade design is a classic for a reason.
ОтветитьGot this to replace my Benchmade Bugout that I lost (RIP) and honestly this is 90% of what that Bugout was for my needs and I can get like 5 of these for the price of the Bugout lol
ОтветитьHad a Buck 110 for 42 years. Enough said ;-)
Ответить100% agree on the 112 Slim. Probably the most practical and cost effective everyday carry knives that has come out in the last 20 years.
ОтветитьAgree 110 percent. Love Buck knives
ОтветитьI have a good Buck 110 collection from this all the way to customs but your spot on…made in the USA and it has Buck’s lifetime warranty - you have a knife forever and that’s a great thing!
Ответитьhello, since always when I imagine an American knife it's a buck 110. I bought one necessarily I love this knife, it is heavy and not necessarily the best balanced but it is a mythical knife for me and I love it, good quality. Thanks to your video I will take it in slim. Thanks for the video 👍
ОтветитьI've had the classic Buck 110 since 2015 and just recently picked up the classic Buck 112. After reviewing the Buck product line I've just ordered the Buck 112 Slim for more practicality with EDC carry.
ОтветитьAnother good video. I purchased the 112 slim a short while back on impulse. I wasn't looking for a new knife just was in a local sporting goods store and there it was for under $30 so I picked it up. I'm familiar with Buck knives and have several along with many other pocket knives and multitools but I have to say this 112 has become one of my favorites if not my favorite for EDC. It just works and the ease of carry can't be beat. Great , durable, made in America 🇺🇸 pocket knife. I just purchased the 110 slim but still waiting on it to arrive. I wanted both. Thanks for an honest video about a great knife that fits everyones budget.
Ответитьi had the buck 112 i think it was i gave it to my sister i wanted her to have a good knife i daily carry the bantram 110 i think it is im hoping to get a lot more buck knives
ОтветитьNo misguided loyalty here. Buck still offers options that command the attention of anyone in the market for an edged tool of exceptional design, quality, and performance. There is truly no substitute for these knives. Aaron has handled a ridiculous amount of blades from all over. Budget, premium, midtech, and custom...yet he's still enthusiastic about these knives, and I'm right there with him. When I carry and use my Buck knives, I feel proud to be an American. Roll your eyes if you will, but I'm totally serious. I don't care who you are, you should have one of these. There is no excuse not to.
ОтветитьI remember when Buck had the 110 Ecolite.
ОтветитьI own many knives, and several Buck knives, and my red 110 slim is the one that is usually in my pocket when I'm doing chores on our 12 acre property. I never worry about scratching it up and the red handle stops me from losing it. Very versatile blade shape and easy to sharpen back to paper cutting sharp. Best $25 I've ever spent.
ОтветитьJust bought the 112 Slim. Thanks for your presentation.
ОтветитьI love the 110. I have the original with wood and brass, i love the weight and the robust design. I have been considering a slim series, but i just cant give up the original.
ОтветитьDude check out the new Buck TRX line! Slim 110 and 112 in S30V blade steel, screw together construction, slimmer pocket clip, thumb stud. Looks very interesting!
