And what about disabled boys? Oh. I forgot. Who cares about them?
ОтветитьCant wait to cry like a baby while watching this. 29 yr old male here. And scott most events for disabled kids are dominated by boys. Calm down
ОтветитьNO, they matter, this just isn't about them right at this very moment. If you think it's unfair, feel free to go out and create something for them though.
ОтветитьNo, they aren't. The most isolated disabled boys are those with invisible disabilities, such as Asperger's and PTSD inflicted buy school-sponsored bullying. There are few programs for Asperger's because most of its victims are male, and most bullying programs specifically exclude boys unless they're gay.
ОтветитьIt's a pattern. Boys are always told to get to the end of the line because "girls go first." After all, boys are ulgy, and play with dirt, and break things, and fidget in class. So, who cares about them? (Ask any non-feminist educator.) It's why I became a men's rights activist, to fight the "girls go first" mentality.
ОтветитьYou've seriously lost touch with reality.
ОтветитьReality is whatever feminists say it is, and always has been. Teachers were given essays and art work with names and pictures randomly attached to them. The work described as having been done by a girl was graded higher, on average, by a full grade-point. (Physically attractive girls and those with pretty names did even better.) But, then, who cares? As I said, it's just boys.
ОтветитьWhich, while interesting in itself, has nothing to do with this video or the nature of the conversation. As Whiskeyspitt pointed out below, most events for disabled kids are already geared towards boys. So to come to this video and cry and moan like a child that this one is geared toward girls is both asinine and puerile.
ОтветитьI think it`s a wonderful idea!
ОтветитьIncredible! Smiling and crying all at the same time.
ОтветитьIt was so touching. I started crying at some point. I am glad these girls get the opportunity to feel pretty, because they all are. I can't believe how ignorant some people are and I wish they would see this and think over.
ОтветитьThis is awesome. I'm not a pageant-type girl, but I think this is a beautiful thing.
ОтветитьI think it is 'Everyone first."
ОтветитьYeah. We shouldn't be confined to kitchens and bedrooms.
ОтветитьSure it is. And disabled boys have a tuxedo pageant? And girls of all physical types are taught not to barge to the head of the line, and not to punch boys? And teachers are taught not to give girls higher grades than boys? Sure... When the Messiah comes, when angels sing on earth.
ОтветитьI was a disabled boy who was treated like crap by entitled girls. You get off it.
ОтветитьI am no longer a small boy. On the other hand, I could walk without pain back then. Girls called me a "cretin" and were, for the most part, cruel and violent -- oddly, these days, I am better looking than most other men. I still have my hair. Girls deserve to be treated with dignity, but not by excluding and humiliating boys.
ОтветитьThe Messiah did come.
ОтветитьNo, he didn't.
ОтветитьWhen does this come out on DVD?? I don't have HBO.
ОтветитьI am crying for all those children that are like that. like me..... i really wanna be in it and it heart touching it is outstanding!!! I LOVE IT!!!!!
ОтветитьI defiantly get that i was born with a physical disability myself with my leg. so it is important that people treat others as human beings not like a disability. I recently got kicked out my schools yoga class due to the teacher saying it was hard for her to teach because when i tried to do the poses i would confuses all the other girls. the comment came out of the blue and in front of everybody. it hurt and made me feel embarrassed.
ОтветитьJust saw this on HBO. What a great film. Seeing those kids smiling ear to eat was really amazing.
ОтветитьAnyone know tierney last name or any news?
