ОтветитьThanks for sharing it! I always enjoy watching Great Old Movies though. 👍👌👏
And of course, I'm a subscriber!
Thanks Again Though.
Another video rendered unwatchable by eye defect simulation. Yuck.
ОтветитьS.Wlnters,Conte,Bickford. Grandes actores para una gran película con excelente guión. Película muy recomendable.
ОтветитьVery nice ❤❤ thank you 🎉
ОтветитьSecond viewing for me. This is an outstanding classic; story, film noir lighting/cinematography, drama, period props, (e.g. Ford convertible) sets, locations, and moral/spiritual lessons. Thank you VMS.
ОтветитьThis movie has many levels to intrest many different people looking for the good in people
ОтветитьFantastic flick! Bickford a grest character actor. Conte always intense and McNally playing a cop! 😮Thats a switch, usually plays a ruthless bad guy.
ОтветитьLet me write my own ending...Bruno turns himself in with hope make parrol in 25 years, fisherman and his boy become partners after boy does a short stretch in jail and gets married to Shelly Winters
ОтветитьLOVE!!! LOVE!!!LOVE!!!
ОтветитьExcellent movie, I always watch any movie starring Richard Conte and Shelley Winters, THANKS!! 👍
ОтветитьStop with the side blurring….there is no need for it.
Stop messing with the original.
Shelley is fine as wine 🍷 🙏🌹🇺🇲
ОтветитьWatching these old movies and seeing cops stomp all over the constitution is so disheartening. They would not get away with crap like that these days.
ОтветитьA San Francisco gone for ever
ОтветитьReally really a great movie!❤❤

ОтветитьWhat a good film! And happy ending!!! Conte was excellent in this.
ОтветитьOne fine film - watch- you won't be sorry!
Ответитьthe old days, before he decided to back the tattaglias against vito.
ОтветитьReleased November 1951
ОтветитьA major casting success...including Charles Bickford....I'd watch them if they were in an ad
ОтветитьHe had an itch. He had to be scratched.
ОтветитьSome interesting trivia:
There is an error in the IMDB "Cast & Crew" listing for THE RAGING TIDE. Ernest K. Gann's novel "Fiddler's Green" - the source material for the screenplay of THE RAGING TIDE, also written by Mr. Gann - is, indeed, credited on-screen at the end of the acting-credits section of the opening credits.
"Because I'm not Catholic.....": Actually, Charles Bickford played Catholic priests in MUTINY IN THE BIG HOUSE in 1939 (Father Joe Collins), in THE SONG OF BERNADETTE in 1943 (Father Peyramale) - for which he was nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Oscar - and in GUILTY OF TREASON in 1950 (Cardinal Joszef Mindszenty). He was also happily married "till death do us part" for 51 years to only ONE woman - nee Beatrice Loring - from 1916 until his death of a blood infection on 9 November 1967, age 76. (He was 60 years old when THE RAGING TIDE was filmed). Charles and Beatrice Bickford had two children: a daughter and a son.
In 1948 (3 years before THE RAGING TIDE), Tito Vuolo (who plays Barney Schriona in THE RAGING TIDE) played Papa Roma, father of Martin Rome (played by Richard Conte) in the 20th Century-Fox crime drama/film noir CRY OF THE CITY - which is also an excellent film!
Other movies released in 1951 in which the cast principals of THE RAGING TIDE are in the cast are as follows:
George Sherman (director): TOMAHAWK, TARGET UNKNOWN, and THE GOLDEN HORDE (He directed all three.)
Shelley Winters (Connie Thatcher): A PLACE IN THE SUN (for which she was nominated for Best Actress), HE RAN ALL THE WAY (excellent film!), and BEHAVE YOURSELF!
Richard Conte (Bruno Felkin): UNDER THE GUN and HOLLYWOOD STORY (excellent film!)
Stephen McNally (Lt. Kelsey): AIR CADET, APACHE DRUMS, IRON MAN, and THE LADY PAYS OFF (excellent film!)
Charles Bickford (Hamil Linder): JIM THORPE -- ALL-AMERICAN and ELOPEMENT
Alex Nicol (Carl Linder): TOMAHAWK, TARGET UNKNOWN, and AIR CADET
John McIntire (Corky Mullins): UNDER THE GUN, YOU'RE IN THE NAVY NOW, THAT'S MY BOY, and WESTWARD THE WOMEN (excellent film!)
Tito Vuolo (Barney Schriona): THE MATING SEASON (excellent film!), THE ENFORCER (also an excellent film, well worth watching!), UP FRONT, THE GREAT CARUSO, SATURDAY'S HERO, and THE RACKET
Chubby Johnson ("General" Ball): NIGHT RIDERS OF MONTANA, THE SCARF (excellent film!), WELLS FARGO GUNMASTER, FORT WORTH (excellent film!), LOST CONTINENT, FORT DODGE STAMPEDE, and WESTWARD THE WOMEN
Minerva Urecal (Johnnie Mae Swanson): TEXANS NEVER CRY, STOP THAT CAB, THE GREAT CARUSO, DEAR BRAT, and MASK OF THE AVENGER (STOP THAT CAB and THE RAGING TIDE are the only two of those 1951 movies for which she received screen credit.)
Wonderful!
ОтветитьShelley was just starting to get the fats here. I just saw a film from about a year or two earlier than this and she still had a toned body. By '51 she was already down the road to obesity.
Ответить😊😊😊
ОтветитьWhat a great movie 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿. Great cast, great story. Great Unexpected irony!!!
ОтветитьRead Shelly Winters. Two autobio books. She roomed with Marilyn Monroe and knew everyone .
ОтветитьBeautiful story.
ОтветитьGreat movie! Glad I watched it!!
