Usually the housing's developer's the one who responsible anything like checking the areas or land before they build the houses. People's who buy thier house as thier home normally had no ideas of what's wrongs of the property they paying for. Developer's required to look at this problems and fixed it. It is not responsibility of buyers to check any problems coz that is developer's responsibility.The developer's must see those people's that affected on this problems and tell them to move temporarily while they checking the problems and offer help to move in safely temporary house.

Sell it back to the builder and run! Sounds like crooked contractors/builder and inspectors on the take. Don't sell it to someone else, it's not safe and you could be liable for latent defects. There are plenty of houses, find an older home that is structurally sound.

Force the builder, and his family, to live there. The city should make an exception and allow them to occupy the home and let his family go through what others have.

You can't tell me that the building business didn't know about the unreliable land the houses where built on... please these people were ripped off. Looking like a cover up. Just my opinion 🤷

We purchased a very nice condo on the water (close enough) in Puerto Vallarta before ground was even broken. We had been visiting Mexico for years, and trusted them. I have no respect or trust for Mormon crooks, and that goes back to the John Smith and Brigham Young days of dressing up as Indians, and attacking settlers they couldn't convert.

There should be suspicion as to who knew to include a non disparagement clause.

WHY was the Company given permits to build in the first place?
The City Building Inspectors and DHEC Should have done Soil Inspections BEFORE A PERMITE was issued to be able to build there.
Our daughter is buying 6 acres of land and to make sure they can build...BEFORE THEY CLOSE ON THE LOTS....It is their contract that the Land and Soil must pass ALL requirements before the sell goes through.
They are paying 50/50 for those Inspections.
A friend bought 26 acres and after closing and ready to build the land was not passed...none of the 26 acres...and now they are stuck with expensive worthless land.

There are many "home builders" in Utah who are NOT the most honest in my ioinion!

Shock went through a Draper neighborhood early Saturday morning as two homes slid off a cliff. Where Eric and Carole Kamradt’s forever home once stood, all that's now left is dirt, debris and disappointment.

They’re building houses where they probably should not be building them

I would never get this house that close to someone all those houses are gunna be flooding

So crazy to see these houses, knowing that 4 months later, they would slide down the hill. If Edge makes it out of this, I will be amazed. I cannot imagine anyone willing to buy a house from Edge after this!

We just did an addition on to a garage. Contractor had soils tests done and engineers. That weight doesn’t compare to what a house is but he wouldn’t proceed with out it. We are on a flat area and the original house was built in 1997. No matter, he would not proceed without a soil test and an engineer approval. City inspector was stunned that the process took so long. Now I’m ever thankful that it did.

Sign of the times. No one takes pride in workmanship any more! It’s cut corners, shoddy workmanship. Years ago people took pride in their work that’s no longer the case today.

How it happened! Well DUH!! Build a house on hill side mixed with GREEDY developers equals trouble EVERYTIME!

In order to force someone out of their homes or not allow them to enter, the government must give just compensation according to the taking clause.

Utah STOP allowing builders to build on the EDGE of these cliffs,, there is a reason for this.. plus everyone can enjoy the views when no one is right next an edge... this is happening everywhere,, such a HUGE waste of materials..

Rediculous to build & buy a house on a cliff edge! IMO pure stupidity.

Why hasn’t the state jumped in, pulled their License and made them finish it correctly now, with making them pay each day over finishing date.
