If the micrbrand watch's price has a 4 in the first number, better have a miyota. And if the first number in the price starts with a 5 (or higher), a Swiss movement is expected.

I’ve had this watch for 2 weeks and have not yet had to reset the time. It’s running +1 sec/day at worst. I’m quite amazed.

Hahaha, doing the "Seiko shuffle" to get it moving, who doesn't love a little "Seiko shuffle" now and again.

Speaking about SKX and its mod potential it also worth mentioning Seiko 5 Sport (5KX) as it is compatible with 95% of all SKX mods out of the box (only mods touching SKX screw-down crown are not compatible). In addition to that 5KX has better movement and wider range of dials to choose from.

sarb033 was on whistlist when it's first came out, but i have other priorities. when i have the money it's already gone.
it's so hard to find sarb033 replacement.

So happy I snatched an Snzh60k1 (gold 5 series) from a guy online, bought it for 2000 SEK, and it’s worth double that now😂

Seiko watches are a great buy if you need a solid field watch and remember you can always change straps to whatever suits your needs. I love them on a nice rubber strap.

Are they still making the Seiko Orange monster diver. I had a couple of them about 10 years ago and I wish I still had one. I’d most likely stick it on a black rubber strap. Those watches felt so solid and the guarded bezel would make it a great diver or adventure watch. Might have to look and see if it’s still available…

I would put a king samurai instead of the king turtle since you included the mini turtle as well, which actually suits more people, even though I'm a big watch kind of person, but other than that lovely picks.

For me, it's SUN025 aka "Seiko Polar Explorer". Almost impossible to find nowadays.

I paid 240 gbp for my sarb033 back then. It was the same price as the sarb017 Alpinist.

My go to Seiko is my 1968 recreation diver, love the watch and wear everytime I go out. Just bought a Certina quarts chronometer chronograhp accurate to 10 seconds a year for £372. Got a bargain as last one back in stock, back to £690 now. ETA movement. 300 meters water restistance. Swiss Made.

I have purchased six of the 10 that you mentioned. And, I still own them 😊

I must say for those who just started to fall in love with watches. Seiko is the best brand to start your collection with. Seiko got so many different styles. I would definitely put the "Seiko Speedtimer" on the list. But this video is awesome and very informative you can never go wrong with Seiko... Or Casio!!

I have the following seikos in my little collection 1) yellow fin tuna SRP639K1, 2) orange samurai SRPC07, 3) blue coutura SSC749P1, 4) seiko presage white herringbone SRPC79

If I REALLY liked a watch I'd keep hold of it (which I do). The only way I'm able to comprehend the buying and selling mentality so common with these channels is they're impulse buys, which are later regretted and is akin to a lesser form of collecting addiction to escape some other life issue. Might be an idea to consider why you want to sell the watch vs why you bought it in the first place.

No seiko solar tank? That's the watch that honestly got me into watches. Classic design. Beautiful all for less than $200. Also the bumblebee monster. Maybe its just because I found one at jewelry store going out of business and bought it for like $50... But I love it....

Oddly enough, if I bought a King Turtle, I'd have to mod it to get an old fashioned Aluminium bezel back. By God, are these ceramic bezels ugly and lifeless. But it was funny to see you talk SNZG. My first mechanical Seiko was the blue one, back in 2015. :) I also owned a Mini Turtle for 3 years, but I finally sold it in favour of an SPB317, which is vastly superior. But for the money, the Mini Turtle was a cracking watch. Under-appreciated indeed.

That said, the current crop of King Seiko's, the SPB's above 1000 bucks, the enamel limited Presage in my box, my Limited King Seiko and my Limited Alpinist (Seiko's clocking in at 3000 Euros) are all fantastic. I don't understand all the bitching and whining about these watches. The quality control on SLA's and the limiteds I have is unparalleled, and they offer serious value up in that price bracket.

People are too critical of the brand. Take your metal dive watch. Looks like it's half a click out of alingment on the bezel, so just move it forward half a click and wiggle it a bit, and you'll be fine. That is fixable, which can't be said for the very shitty sapphires on any Hamilton or Certina. And what's more, it's not like Oris still sells anything under 2100 Euro in their sixty-five range. You can't even get an Aquis below 2000 bucks anymore.

In my opinion, comparing an 800 buck Seiko that does what it says on the tin, even if you need to fiddle the bezel a bit, to a 2100 buck Aquis is borderline disengenious.

My king turtle just died, stopped for no reason, wtf? 6mths old.. band failed me (pin) after 4 months. I'm now not happy with a watch I loved.

DressKX are awesome watches. Land tortoise should be on this list. You can get them for $300 - $400 and they have sapphire. The best tortoise cases watch. Perfect size perfect shape.

For me, my favorite Seiko is the SNE573 Prospex Solar Diver with a Fostner Klip bracelet (Bonklip style) replacing the included black rubber strap. With 38.5mm case width and 10.6mm thickness it is more the size of a modern field watch with a timing bezel. Two extras: Drilled lugs and full 60 minute markers around the bezel. Wears well even on my 7.75" wrist.

Jody, you must take a look at the SBTR/Spirit range of chronographs which are JDM only and are beautiful watches well under 150$.

There's also the SNE range of solar divers whic have beautiful bezels and are 38/39mm in diameter.

Actually agree with several of your picks (particularly those that I own). What did you miss? The first or second gen MONSTER--an obvious choice, especially at the sub $200-ish price at the time.

No flightmaster? I think it could have been addressed here. SNA411 Seiko Flightmaster is a good watch that fills my busy dial need. Such a pretty watch and with the touches of yellow it is such a good looking watch.

The new Arnie looks awesome. Nostalgia makes me like the old black one but the all metal is nice!

Yeah, I don't know what happened to the Mini Turtle. I've got two. I'll never part with mine. And I don't understand why in the world you'd sell that Steelmaster. It is SOOOOO easy to align a misaligned bezel insert. Bad move Jody. I can give you tips if you're interested if you repurchase that one and the insert needs work. Really, so easy to fix.
