For the question of protecting the equipment from over voltage. Victron Battery protect does that. search for victron battery protect over voltage protection. it's one direction only so it has to be installed just before the charger with the right orientation (in - out). Device is cheap, the bluetooth version 100 amp is $70
ОтветитьThis is a very informative video/post. I am no electrician but absorbed a good portion of the conversation. I will keep this post for later use; THANK YOU ALL.

ОтветитьI had to leave after the first hour. I wish to disagree when it comes to developing a power system in a RV. I believe that the battery system not the solar system is the first and most import system to start with and build upon that. The battery bank stores the energy for use at a later time. A wimpy 100 amp battery with a 2000 watt solar system is a waste. The solar panels are just one way to charge the battery bank along with DC to DC charger, shore power and the generator. Also a root tip solar array is worthless when camping at Crane Prairie Campground in the cascades due to the constant shade from the trees. What worked for me was first 400 amp lithium batteries tied to a 3000 watt victron inverter. I then added 200 watts of portable solar panels with a victron solar charge controller. I would add root top solar panels. And finally a DC to DC charge controller to my tow truck. My two cents worth. Another comment is that from what I have seen is that most RV dealer installs are sub par. I had A&M solar in Springfield design my system and I installed it to their specifications. It has worked well with a few tweaks over time. Great video and lots of good information.
ОтветитьI missed the Live, but listening to it after was very informative. Thanks for taking the time.
ОтветитьGood evening, It's 85 in Lakeside, CA
ОтветитьGreat session and thanks for taking my question. Do you have a video that describes your journey from BIRD brain, to Xantrex brain to 2 DC-DC chargers? 1 charger for alternator to house battery and the other from converter (?) to chassis battery?
ОтветитьSpences Bridge, BC. 34 C, predicted to get 36, so, it'll probably reach 38 C.
You can bet the AC has been running since 9:00 am, windows and blackout drapes are closed and multiple fans are running, just to keep the house 10 degrees cooler than outside.
