Spent 5 yrs in India and a weekend in Varanasi.... Certainly traced your steps to the crematorium..... I was amazed that there is no odour in the air... Also felt called to go.. 😁Have been back in my country for 7 yrs now and on the odd occasion I have a need for a movie on Netflix I select only Indian movies, don't want to see western trash! ..... Some movies are just silly but there are some gems and characters I know intimately and fill my heart again and again and again💖...ie Gangubhai Kathiawadi, Billu, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, .... Qarib Qarib Single, ....
Darlings - A dark and lovely comedy, Fitoor very compelling..... These have engaged me meaningfully with what I grew to love of India-Bharat and her people💝💥💝

I was born in india and lived there for 23 years before I came to canada. 2 places I would definitely wanna go in india is varanasi and rishikesh. So spiritual man.

Yes, I was there for five days in a little room just off Pandey Ghat. I walked every day along the ghats. Words fail me. If you are open hearted it will transform you, just as you describe in this very well done video.

Varanasi ( also called as "Kashi" ) is actually more than 5000 years old city !! This is world's oldest living City , a heritage site indeed !!
It has also very relevant place in Hinduism and one of the most sacred city !!

I was in Varanasi last year. I saw a man meditating. I thought he was a statue until he looked at me. I couldn;t believe he was a live person.

There is a story behind "why everyone come Varanasi to die".
But according to that story, not everyone will be free from reincarnation.
only those will get free from reincarnation "who lived their life in a great way with full of faith and Dharm(humanity) and no Sins were performed by him/her".

most impressive globetrotter experience..

I traveled as a lone woman on my own from USA and overland all the way around the world (except oceans) in 1974-76 when in my mid-30's -- this is a fine presentation of Varanasi -- it was much funkier/grittier when I was there. I traveled across India from West to East, then Calcutta to (eventually) Sri Lanka. (+ Thailand/Hong Kong/Japan and back to San Francisco).
