Just save your money.... GTX 1660 vs GTX 1060

I have the msi 1060 X gaming 6gb version still works great and still plays current games.

I can't believe how bad the benchmarks were back then... LMAO. You have to pause at every 0,5 seconds.

I just want a 1080p BEAST. Why are there so many gpu’s 😭😭

FYI upgrading from a mobile 1060 to a desktop 1660ti is absolutely worth it

To honest i have Msi 1060 6GB Gaming plus Oc. and i use that card for streaming and playing World of tanks. I have amazig perormance on that card, and i dont see why would people sped a lot of money on some not just little but much expensive cards to gain +10FPS... it easy to manage to set up game on ultra and lock it to 60FPS and stream in 1080P 60 without problems.
Conclusion! Dont waiste your money guys !

Buy defective GPUs (only those above 30 dollars and below 60 dollars) and go to legit repair shops (those that can change memory chips and gpu cores)
Then sell the refurbished card and repeat process till you save enough cash for a brand new one

end of 2022, sold old 1060 3G high and got used OEM 1660ti for SAME price :) now can upgrade my i5 4460 Veteran to i7 4770 , still enough for today for me

I got one of those because I don't recall but it was a big price jump the Super. These days I would probably prefer to have a RTX 3070, but I got a ryzen 5900x recently from a 2600 and thought that may fill the blender gap with a lower wattage draw. I hate landfills for my stuff when it is still basically ok. I was using a strix 970 before that and it seems like still basically a better card that is lighter and faster. And the 6GB I need so my meshes don't overflow the GPU. I thought I could move the 970 to a lga 1156 system so I could make it another member of my render farm. Thing is though afterwards it was 1/3rd the speed of my ryzen 2600 system so it was next to useless. For that reason it mostly does not get used (the 970) but in theory could do some gaming.

I've had the GTX 1660 since 2019 (or '18 I forget). And I'm having some issues and was looking at cards again. Guessing I should just keep this one?

And if not, is there any ray tracing technology inside the Gtx 1660 (Msi Gaming) and does it support it? Please tell me which vendor is the best in Gtx1660? Better if you support (Gtx1660 Msi Gaming x) (Ray Tracing) but if that doesn't happen then (Msi Gaming) will be out of buy and this (Gtx 1660 Msi Gaming x) market in. Not even available.

It's crazy to see the mid-range back in 2019 and with the 30 series it's even worse. We aren't going to be getting usable GPUs for $250aud in Australia ever again, they are all gonna be $400 to get an okay experience. I remember my 960 2gb being $220 and playing ever game in 2016 at high settings or better, it was vram limited a lot, but the 4gb wasn't much more and fixed that. Now the 3050 is like $600 and does the same thing now as the 960 did when that came out but the 3050 is 3x the price

Yeah the thing is like in shi*t* holes like latin america you have to pay 5 times that value because the devaluation and whitout to mention the crypto mining thing... So 30 bucks for the video is like 150 bucks for third world countries and here is where you start to thinking should i buy a 200 or 350 or 500 card.

1060 surprisingly holds up well for today's big games on 1080p with medium settings, was worried that I'll have to upgrade soon, but it seems I got another year or two at least

2022: Have EVGA GTX 1060 is still running strong! Had at least for 7 years. Just bought a GTX 1660 because I couldn't find another 1060, only 1050's and they were overpriced. The "flaws" I experienced with the 1060 was not its fault, was in my first build that I bottle necked it physically and software. With this new rig, I may end up using old faithful rather than 1660.

What about the difference in fan noise?

You missed the cheat code of the EVGA 1660 XC Black... You can flash it with the EVGA 1660 XC Ultra bios direct from their website and unlock 23% power limit. I ran mine at 1750MHz base, 2150MHz boost with a 250MHz memory overclock (500 effective) for 2 years and it topped maybe 75C max, with just the one fan... If you can get one cheap today, jump on it, it will easily do 1440p @ 60fps on ultra...

How are u claiming these cards cost $240 retail price. And 2 years later, now, I look the same card and its $650. Wtf. Why would it jump in price that higher in 2 years. Wouldn't it be cheaper after 2 years????

Hey I'm desperately needing a new graphics card and the one i was eyeballing was in fact the 1660. in this video you showed where you could get it for $279 for the ti xc black, however i wasn't able to find it under $550. I just got Assassins Creed Valhalla and cant play because mine isnt dx 12 capable. Please help a dude out so I cant get to playing this game. Thanks in advance.

I just can't understand EVGA's design team... I mean, love them or hate them, most other companies stick to a similar theme for their cards, even though generations. For example:

- MSI: "you like mecha/gundam looking stuff? You got it."
- Asus: "You like the edgy angles and over the top gamer branding? You got it."
-Gigabyte: "You like stealth jet fighter looking stuff? You got it"

Meanwhile EVGA be like:
- 10xx series: "you like sleek, industrial style? We got it."
- 20xx series: "You like spiderweb/organic looking stuff? Ok, oddly specific, but ok you got it.
- 30xx series: "You like CLOWN LIPS? Say no more!"

I bought a used gigabyte 1660 6GB for $110 from a friend, who used the card for a few days and went on to upgrade to an RTX 2060. That was a year ago. Now i look at the prices and it gets me everytime.
