If you can, watch the 1994 tv series. It is superior to this. I also didnt like the new version of Firestarter. Back in the past they didnt have modern VFX or SFX what so ever, but they put the efforts in good acting and directing. Hope there will not be a new version of The shining...

I loved this movie from 1994...as soon as I heard Whoopies voice it was a turn off....all I can hear is The View and hatred towards anyone that does not comply to their version of mankind.

Casting Whoopi was a deal breaker for me.

Owen was outstanding as Harold in my opinion, he really did a great job

This version was so bad that paramount + had hidden this behind a paywall. It’s terrible. The Stand is one of the best novels and the 1994 ABC version was pretty good for tv.

This version of Steven Kings the stand sucks. Any thing with Amber Heard or Whoopi Goldburg I won't watch it.

Book was great, the 1990's mini series was pretty good too but of course the WOKE Hollywood idiots had to do yet another remake and ruined it.

This was a remake that was one hot steaming stinking piece of woke garbage.
I watch one and a half parts of it and turned it off.
Flashbacks, shifting rapidly from scene to scene with not connectivity, I could not keep up with who was who and it was basically The Stand in DIE and woke more than a story and show meant to entertain. By the half of the second show I was hoping Woke Captain trips was 100% non survivable.

Do Not Watch if you Read the Book.

Don’t waste your time watch the original twenty year old tv version.. way better acting better production value and a storyline that is way more original and consistent with Steven kings book.

I read the book when it was first released but never saw the movie. Watching it, I am struck by the parallels with the current political warfare in the United States. In my opinion, the polarization of beliefs and values are clear.

Gary Sinise in the first 'Stand' was the best.
