"Australian creatures" ☠
ОтветитьWD40 is shit for that application, loosening up stuck bolts.. Need a good penetrating fluid.
ОтветитьDo you know what model the old Inter atio al tractor is Curtis.there is a guy in Minden qld who might be able to help with parts for a tractor that old.
ОтветитьIt's always a good idea to Prime the Oil Filter ! There could be a Cold and Normal Operation Temperature Setting for the Rocker assembly ? Candle Wax also helps with stubborn /frozen/rusty bolts . Thanks for sharing !
ОтветитьAlso, it's a good practice to write the date, mileage, or engine hours on both the oil and fuel filters, for a quick reference for the last service.
ОтветитьI always fill up the oil filter with oil prior to installing it. Just that much less time for the motor to run dry before the oil pump gets actually starts getting oil to the furthest bearing(s).
ОтветитьHay otra forma de limpiar los inyectores cosa que no hiciste.
ОтветитьWhen is crane going back together
ОтветитьIn the future when you have a bolt or retaining pin that is stuck or possibly rusted/seized heat it up a bit then rub a bit of wax on it like a tea candle and let it sit for a bit. It often will free up things even WD40 or penetrating oil won’t.
ОтветитьGreat videos, I need to visit Australia
ОтветитьOld engines are so much fun to work on.
ОтветитьHi, sorry if I fail to make an observation: a head gasket doesn't burn out by chance. Incorrect tightening is also probable but once it burns it creates small grooves on the cast iron. I don't think you were missing a tool to give it a flattening of 2/3 tenths. By reassembling everything like this you could have the problem that will arise very soon. Greetings from Rome and great work anyway!
ОтветитьMake sure head bolts are drip dry when it comes to oil. If oil gets trapped under the bolts it’s a hydraulic cylinder and can split the block when tightening them up. Using an air gun to spin bolts in makes it worse. I would take a head bolt and speed brace it in all the head bolts threads and check bolts spin in before installing head. It’s not a time to find thread bind when the head gasket is compressed and doing up the bolts.
ОтветитьI was really glad to see the out takes on this one as apart from the broken bolt on the Air Filter Bracket evreything looked way too easy for Kurtis. This is work I am familiar with myself as opposed to your Extaordinary Machining and Fabrication Skills. But these out takes show that you are Human afterall. Thanks for another very well put together video Karen. You both rock !!!
ОтветитьWhat kind of bird is that?
ОтветитьWe live in Colorado, and we feed our magpies, too.
ОтветитьI thought Chevrolets had miserable access to oil related changes . . . . . .
ОтветитьWould it kill you to buy a can of paint
ОтветитьGood episode as always 😊👍🏻 But don't put oil on the head studs. If you are unlucky you can get cracks in the block around the stud holes. The holes should always be dry.
ОтветитьDon't you use anti-seize grease for the bolting?
ОтветитьIam from Texas and I like the clean shaven look best!
ОтветитьGood job
ОтветитьHit all your bolts with penetrating oil before you start if your dealing with that much rust
Ответитьi just love your life
ОтветитьDid you just invent a new sport of yard crane drifting 😂
ОтветитьWhy is the coolant cherry flavored
ОтветитьAnyone think it now needs a custom exhaust and beer kegs fuel tanks to got with the inlet?
ОтветитьКуртис-класс!!!
ОтветитьSo our guy knows his way around engines, too! I liked the way you handled those two very rusty bolts. It is a pleasure to watch a competent craftsman do work like this.
ОтветитьCurious about all the fluids - pretty much all bare handed, no gloves! I know if messes with the feel and dexterity of handling stuff but Yuck I can't stand the dirt, grit, oils, and solvents that get you the hands. Just wondering how much of that stuff your skin is adsorbing ?? Take care !
ОтветитьBonjour il fallait remplir le filtre avant de le monter
ОтветитьSurprised you didn't resurface the head in you mill. And then create a mill that bolts onto the block in situ and mill that 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
ОтветитьP b blaster is best for stuck bolts...must shake spray can before using let set little bit and most cases they come loose with out too much trouble
ОтветитьWith you to the end mate. Have a great weekend from Gissy NZ
ОтветитьCome on Curtis, I thought you'd at least shouted the old girl some new radiator hoses! And what about a muffler?
ОтветитьNo doubt there are many others with your talents, however there are many thousands who are like me, they know where the fuel goes but nothing else.
ОтветитьThe depth and breadth of your mechanical knowledge amazes me. I myself can barely pump fuel much less repair anything. Kurtis you save yourself HUGH amounts of money by being able to do this kind of work. You are an inspiration to others.
Ответить"It's pretty sad, but it still works."
I'm pretty sure my boss says the same about me.
Where did you get the kit full all plugs? I need that in my life.
Ответитьhow does one man get to understand so much about mechanical items. this guy can do anything.
ОтветитьYour problem solving skills are second to none Kurtis … amazeballs ❤
ОтветитьDid you ever get that coolant manifold? Believe its part 3055255R1 and there is a few online
ОтветитьYou got to love it when bolts are different and you have to keep changing the wrench very frustrating now I see why you feed the birds and play with the dog for a few minutes New to the channel been enjoying watching you work have a good day
ОтветитьAwesome, thank you for sharing, i learn a lot, always a pleasure watch your project 👍👍👍👍
ОтветитьMasterstück 👏💪
ОтветитьDriving the ole wobbly. Aka as a yard crane
ОтветитьDang, you made the job look so quick and easy. If I did that head gasket job, it would probably take me 2 days and several busted knuckles. Maybe 2 broken bolts or studs.
ОтветитьPersonally i would have skimmed the head. You can do that without removing the values
