LG UH664V vs Philips PUS6501 TV comparison review

i have bouth of these two tv and by far lg is more faster and the image quality is better on lg and much clear, philips is just a little brighter .... and if u desasamble these 2 tv ... and look inside ... lg is much far advance than philips with list 5 years !!! the motherboar the source and conectors of lg are slimmer tiny and more technic advanced than philips like ... 5 years on the future ... and bouth ave an lg display panel ... thats reality !!!

Between those two - Philips is obviously much better. But to be honest - a lot of brands went down in recent time. They have very good TVs but only for big bucks. In mid-range they all suck. They all have (4 years) old IPS/VA panels of 50/60Hz with poor luminance. They all are 8 bit (+2 trough software improvements), cheap panels made by cheap Taiwanese/Chinese factories. It is actually ironic that Samsung (same with Philips) is buying such panels BUT Chinese top-manufacturer TCL is buying theirs (Samsung) panels. None of them have TRUE Wide Color Gammut or Local Dimming, nor 10 bit colors, nor higher refreshing rates, and HDR on them is a lie - they all are just the same old rubbish with added gimmicks like ambient light or fast web/UI OS and they all come with a lot of shiny FALSE stickers.

ALI!!! IPS LCD panel ima veliki nedostatak, vijek trajanja mu je oko 6 mj. Pojavljuju se mrlje i sjene s vremenom, dobjiu se okomite pruge na panelu, probija bijela svijetlost u donjem desnom kutu, gubi se crna boja, jedan panel sam promjenio nakon 11 mj, sad trebam drugi nakon samo 1 mj.,

Da li na Philips PUS6501 TV moze da se igra ps4 slim ili pro bez nekih veci problema?

Why lgi stand is better than philips? Did i get it right you mentioned lg is better for narrow surfaces?

Prava je šteta što ostali lokalni dobavljači ne prepoznaju kvalitet tvog kanala i rada Darko, i što ti ne šalju i njihove modele na test... vrednije je da ih ti otvaraš i testiraš, nego li što ih oni otvaraju za police mega-marketa na kojima se vrte totalno besmisleni klipovi... Tebi svaka čast i samo nastavi tako, a valjda će nekom program menadžeru u distribuciji upaliti sijalica u glavi, pa će poslati nešto iz svog programa! ;)

Hi Darko, can you please help decide between Philips PUS600 vs Sony XE80 series. Sales at shops always reccomended Philipps but I thought Sony offers sharper image? And ambilight, is this a deal maker?

Really nice comparison. Only missing a few things like panel uniformity and backlight bleed and text on pc because of rgbw pixel structure. By the way I have tried one of the 4k Samsung va TV's and it had a lot of ghosting making it useless to pc use and very very narrow viewing angles.

I have to say, I do have Philips PUS6501. And while being very picky user, I am very happy with the TV.
Picture is great, android is fast, 120hz panel, direct-led... :)

Did you just say the LG has better input lag (which matters a lot in gaming) than the Philips, but Philips wins because of better colors? Are you for real? Wow dude. It's like i'm watching a video from a Philips fanboy or employee.

UH664V has magic remote - you just have to buy it seperately for 50€.
Web OS 3.0 is much faster than Android L version. And both platforms have more than enough apps unlike you said in video.
Both designs are great but each one offering differently. Both are fast in frequency and unless you are gaming and you used your eye to faster fps it doesn't matter which model you take - ball in soccer won't go any blurrier or cleaner on both models.
But be aware as Darko said it in video - both blacks are grey due to being IPS panels. You can dimm them through settings but you also dimm all the colours. But hey...IPS panels have 178 degree watching angle - so great family times :)

You are all here because you don't know which one to buy. I'd recommend going for PUS6561/PUS6521 as an alternative to PUS6501.

It's easy guys.

1. Why LG? If you use a lot of apps and switch a lot between them - go with LG and buy magic remote. It does wonders and is amazing, fast and fluid. WebOS 3.0 is also DLNA compatible and it's beautiful to use it (imagine showing pictures to your friends on TV streaming from your phone while playing LG preprogrammed music from it's own music player) It's friggin awesome.

2. Why Philips? If you don't have any paid services such as TV (Netflix, HBO and others) use Android (Kodi anyone?) It doesn't have magic remote, but it does have a QWERTY keyboard for super fast typeing on the back and you don't have to have two remotes. Oh and also there is uncomparable ambilight feature which steals the show as it really does expand TV borders in your mind.

Pozdrav. Jako dobar video. Taman tražim dobar 4K televizor a da je prihvatljive cijene (do 7000kuna). Baš sam razmatrao i ovaj model philipsa jer volim njihov ambilight ali izgleda mi po komentarima da nisu pouzdani. Prijatelj je vraćao seriju 7 u dućan i čekao mjesec dana servis. Možda mi možete pomoći pri odabiru. Volio bih da bude 55-ica, VA i 100hz panel. 3d nije bitan ali je dobar plus isto kao i barem neki oblik HDR-a. Možda koji panasonic iz 2016 ili 2015 modela? Čujem da su dobri. Sport i igranje igrica mi nisu toliko bitni više za filmove i serije u mračnijim prostorima. Unaprijed hvala
