I got my M2 15in base model Macbook Air for $1300 when it came out. And it is my last. The prices they charge for these mid-tear models are insane. Sure it is a good experience. But I can get a windows laptop that blows it out of the water for a fraction of a price. And now it is spreading to Windows laptops now. Soldered on ram and also SSD's. The computer industry is screwing themselves and it is all out of greed.

Well no surprise with Apple's M4 since Qualcomm have already launched their beastly Snapdragon X Plus/Elite. Love to see more and more powerful ARM chips especially for laptops. That way more of us can properly go wireless a lot longer without performance sacrifice like x86 laptops.

The main problem with devices that have ARM CPUs is that they don't have a dedicated GPU unlike devices with x86 CPUs that support a dedicated GPU. Though in CPU capabilities alone ARM will soon overtake x86.

The 4090 is 98 TOPs. It may be low power, but it's not the fastest or even best value for money

Ipads are getting really close or even beating most laptops on a level , but it's OS is not good. I wish Apple do something about it. They won't do it , we'll have to figure it out to install mac os on ipad . They won't cannabalize their sales of macbook.
