I already ran today.. snow and wind and arrgh (germany). still love it! keep up the great content!
ОтветитьI feel ya man!! The last couple weeks have been rough on the motivation. Kudos for gettin out of the trails!
ОтветитьWell done, Dave. Your channel is a pure pleasure. It’s always very rewarding and motivating to listen to you. Have you ever been to Europe? Good morning from Germany and wish you a good sporting continuation.
ОтветитьMotivation is a personal process and different from many of us but you are so right even 2 enjoyable miles are worth it! Great job Regards from Portugal
ОтветитьIf you don’t have snow, it’s not a winter
ОтветитьLike you it’s getting up and putting the shoes on. If I hit snooze, that usually means I won’t get out. Nice to know that this week has been super busy for someone else! Good luck with the training!
ОтветитьI really enjoy having my training plan synced to my watch. I’ll run whatever it tells me for the day. I may reschedule my long run if I’m not feeling it that day. Committing to a run every day helps as well.
ОтветитьIt's funny that you're doing a 2-miles run everyday challenge, I'm doing the same. Started the Monday after Christmas and so far, so good.
Usually when motivation is an issue (which it usually is at 4am when I go for my runs), the reminder that I only have tk do 2 miles is a comfort. Also, targeted workouts are a huge intrinsic motivator too. I think having specialized workouts was the smartest thing I did for completing this challenge.
I have cold weather induced asthma so my outdoor running has virtually stopped.
It's warming up in the UK so I hope to get out over the coming weeks.
Well done 👍🏃♂️
Ответитьi like this type of video from you
ОтветитьOne run everyday this year for sure. You should start a strava group so you can motivate us and us you. 😁
ОтветитьWhen I'm feeling less motivated, I change the run to a nordic ski or a mt. bike. Running is still #1, but the other sports give me a little freshness. As I've gotten older, the switching helps with physical stress also.
ОтветитьI agree motivation's been tough. All the trails around Boise are too muddy if you don't run super early. Hour long fire road climb Saturdays have been my least exciting time of the week. But you're right just get out the door. Once I'm a mile into any run, the switch turns to just knocking out the distance. Thanks for the video. Off to the hills.
ОтветитьI need to run everyday too!!!
ОтветитьI´ve zero motivation for a run on icy/snowy trails/roads. I don´t fear the temperature but roads and trails around my city are so damn slippery I can barely walk (= 5.8 km/h maximum) without slippin, falling and hurting myself. Dave, you´re freaking lucky for having no snow or ice at all on your trails.
ОтветитьTrucker hat is working well for me. I’m scared to run in it too much because I don’t want to ruin it. 😬 But I did wear it in the video today 🙌
ОтветитьGreat video. I have been putting my running clothes out the night before to get myself out the door in the morning. The other thing I do is dress more cozy. It seems to get me out the door if I am not feeling chilled. It does mean that I am potentially overheating but I realize that is a risk I am willing to take to get me out the door. Last long run before taper for the Hypothermic Half here in NS Canada. woot woot
ОтветитьWhen I don't feel motivated to go for a run, my other personality evilly laughs and forces me out the door. It's worked so far. Been running every day since last May.
ОтветитьThe 50 mile ultra in April that I was training for got cancelled. My motivation was gone but then I recalculated and will do my own ultra distance in April. You have to recalculate or refocus and make the most out of the situation you are handed. Keep putting in the miles.
ОтветитьI don't normally have problems with motivation, but I do need to periodically adjust my running schedule. I don't run everyday, although I ran a lot of 6 day weeks last year. Lately, I've settled into 5 days a week, taking off Monday and Friday - my wife likes this schedule better, too. The problem I've been having the last few weeks is fatigue. I'm not sleeping well, and just not getting enough sleep! I catch myself wanting to close my eyes around 2pm, and I'm thinking about resetting my mileage and vert (approx. 50 miles, and 10,000 ft per week) if I can't work out this fatigue problem. Good luck with your training for the July race - dehydration's a bitch! I stay away from the summer races for that reason.
ОтветитьI'm running in summer but if I get up and put on my running gear I'm going to go. Get up and put on civis it's not gonna happen.
ОтветитьGreat video! Today was my 100 day run streak! I feel awesome! I found out that my body has adjusted to the pain and now I don’t have any problems doing long runs back to back. One day I left the house thinking of doing a 3 mile run and I ended up doing 13.1 miles. That tends to happen a lot lately. As a father of two small kids I have to get very creative as well to squeeze my daily runs every day , work full time and balance family life. Cheers!
ОтветитьHi Dave, I have been hearing a lot of fitness folks in my life talk about the importance of rest days....do you incorporate rest days into your training regimen? Thanks enjoy your videos
ОтветитьI just move. It's all mental. If you tell yourself you're gonna do it - do it.
Also 2019 - that heat was awful. I didn't make my 100. It was so gross.
I ride every day to work 1h. Since COVID-19 and home office, I ride 1h my bike, otherwise I don't start anything else ;)
ОтветитьI'm jumping on the vt 100k waiting list. Hope to see you there
Ответитьlistening to David Goggins cuss me out. That usually helps me out.
