you lost me with the cable protocol. what's the bp-something cable?? thought we're just dealing with an SDI cable?

Thank you a lot! So, I am from Denmark and did'n't understand everything,- the sound section: what would I need to get real good sound on the Komodo, using a boom mike directly connected to the camera? Would a Wooden XLR box, not do the job? (using battery in the mike)

Does the tentacle just synch or does it record too ? Will it work with zoom f6? Also ..what are the benefits of the red komodo expander module? Does it improve sound quality ?

What needed being the power source you went with? Wooden? Thank you!

Dose Any one know is the L4KGI01 galvanic isolator really works? Can you ignore all steps? Prevent some one on set fat fingers the camera sdi.

Are we able to use rule of 3rds on komodo as a guide? Because I have tried to look for it and it has been endless.

According to RED, the power state (on/off) of camera and the powered device does not matter. Just make sure to connect the power source (batteries and/or d-tap) prior to connecting SDI. To me this makes sense… it’s a grounding issue and ground is established when battery or batteries are attached.

Do you happen to have a good recommandation for high quality SDI cable ?
I really don't wanna cheap out on this cable considering the risk of dammaging the sdi port on the camera...

Is this "protecting the SDI" for real? Not being able to hotswapping while under time pressure sounds insane!! I cant start pulling cables when everybody is waiting. wtf??

Do you know if the Portkeys BM5 III WR will have a compatible control cable for the Komodo if I don't want to rely solely on the wireless connection?
You mentioned a compatible cable will be announced for the BM5 III so I assume it will also work with the BM5 III WR then...

I have a Portkeys BM5 mark 3. What cable do I need to control the Komodo through the screen?

If you shoot fight scenes what build would you recommend? Needs to be lightweight, and easy to grip from awkward angles. Small monitor ect. Own a movi pro as well.

Excellent video from CVP, as always. One thing to note, even though it isn't advertised much, the SmallHD 702 Touch also has camera control capabilities like the Cine 7 and the Indie 7. It sits between the two in price and specs. (The same control kit works with all three.)

Still waiting for an in-depth comparison between the KOMODO global shutter and the new Sony Alpha 1 BIONZ XR rolling shutter, perhaps at 1/8000th shutter? Thanks CVP!

Returned the SmallHD Komodo Focus Pro - found it to be underexposed and the komodo patch was extremely glitchy. The iphone works incredibly well with Red's free app and offers a better exposure. Dont bother with komodo link - it's a joke.

wish you guys had actually reviewed the Anton Bauer v-mount plate...

Is there any scientific evidence to suggest larger capacity cards are more reliable? Why would that even be the case?

My dream komodo rig would be komodo with the outrigger handle and the wooden camera cage rig or the bright tangerine cage rig with the kippertie revolva with the tribe7 blackwing7 or the tokina vista prime lens on it and the teradek rt fiz system and the bright tangerine misfit kick matte box and a smallhd 503 or 703 or the cine 7 and at the back a bp battery and the wooden camera b box and the wooden camera battery swing with the battery plate and the c box and the vaxis storm 3000 pass through version or the teradek bolt 4k on rods because then i can can go from an minimal rig to a full on cine rig very easily.

yeah thats a big dream for a 13 year old but,

best series on komodo ever❤ would like a video on a proper cine rig on the komodo or any other camers with fiz and wireless monitoring units as these are not professional high level rigs. would love to see those types of videos from u guys😊
