Has the culture war gone too far?

To people on the internet of all spectrum stuck in culture war i'm gonna say:

YOU'RE...NOT....MAKE...A...WORLD...BETTER. YOU ONLY MAKE THINGS WORSE FOR US TO LIVE.

Back then i was accidentaly looked at culture war 'cuz of one comment on one of Watchmojo's video by calling them "SJW". I'm delve deeper inti that thing on reception wikis which i've found the profound anyi-SJW named Grust. Seeing the context in that website gives me a sympathy to anti-SJW's and i'm aware to against SJW's but the situation got worse especially when getting closed in 2020's where anti-SJWs got so right up on their arses like One Angry Gamer to the point they doing what SJWs have done recently. The final nail in the coffin for my take to anti-SJWs was that horrible hypocrisy of art fix of Aphrodite by the "G" guy claming "against wokes" ehich it's the same tactics as their enemies do also his demand of censorship of his opposition just because he didn't like it and that dreaded history revisionism with that list of "woke" games that gives me headache at best featired in that video and many of anti SJWs fall into the abyss and become their own enemies they sworn to destroy. Now i feel apathy anymore and SICK of this debate over and over from both sides that results nothing.

The worst thing on this culture is i cannot enjoy something without being paranoid of being called out with various buzzwords and associating me with horrible people and i've seen so many stupidity on internet caused by culture war like "this is misogyny/misandry", "DEI, ESG, problematic" or "This '×' ruined the future generation or said civilisation". It detoriating my mental health and as someone with ADHD it's debilitating me the worst to the point i've got anxiety and horrible emotion instabillity because of paranoia i've suffered and i feel impossible to espace from it. Also today's gaming development being tainted by culture war from all of sides make me scream "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH". I'm tired of the endless battle to the point at affects me in real life. And also i'm afraid that my country (Indonesia) started to witness and follow the culture war issue to the worst like one of my country's gaming journalist's video about Concord and Black Myth: Wukong has the word "woke" on the title which it disgust me the most to the point i feel dirty and sensitive with the word that i cannot use the word "woke" as past tense for waking up. The worst of the culture war it limits the creativity of entertainment industry afraid for being called "woke" or "problematic" and this is my gripes for that especially for my country which has a history of puritanical censorship 'cuz of moral outrage and as someone who held the principle of freedom of creativity and expression this sicken me alot

But i'm glad for you MJTanner for being a middle ground for this type of issue and it's rarely to see reasonable people with nuance take for this issue whixh gives me a little hope. I wish this culture war ends sooner not later. The abuser kicked out from industry and the passionate people will thrive to make things better

it is the industry that made people this way. it is a pattern recognition that people are starting to pick up on. it is not necessarily a bad thing that the new ghost game has a female protag, but that it probably wasn't done to actually tell a good story but to check a box. even I, as a black guy, will now look at any new media that stars a black person with scrutiny because it was most likely done for diversity points. while some have definitely gone too far, its not hard to understand why.

The thing is I am think should we push harder, say no to forced DEI until every game companies out there get the message that hiring activists as consultants was a mistake, because it's very obvious that these people are hostile toward the game community.

Or should we chill out a bit, if those activists are behaving we let it slide. I am fine with the concept of DEI, but they shouldn't feel like it's forced upon the game creators. Also making minor representatives look repulsive makes no one happy.

The third ng that really got me to hate the culture war the most was when Space Marine 2 was released. It was a fun game, simple but fun. But a certain reviewer who I like to refer to as Synthy, made a video in which he lambasted the game for having a black space marine, complaint that all space marines or more specifically ultramarines should be white because they are supposed to to look like a smaller version of their primarch(leader). The thing is that's not how space marines work in the lore. In other words this toad complained about something for being lore accurate.

Monsters are the pure distillation of all things that make for a worthy adversary and something to fear. Very much like how warhammer 40k demons are basically reflections of malicious aspects and nature of sentient minds given form.
This means that any features from any race one can consider negative are projected onto it. By creating these devils and overcoming them, it shows an unironically inclusive message that no matter our creed and our disagreements, we stand against that which is evil and harms us all.

You can make any genre male oriented. Yes, even romance and slice of life.
Hell, i can do a basic idea for both of those things.
A story of a man trying to escape a political purge while being accompanied by his wife of affluent, beautiful and of noble connection, the story has the woman give up on all those things just to help her man and stand by him while he also makes his way through the world to find a new life they can share together.
As for slice of life, just make it about the life of a roman solider outside all the battles. Meaning having him deal with the dumber shit like his commander being a jackass or the jokes those people use to have about stuff. Roman's did a lot of wild shit that could easily be entertaining to watch on it's own.

Lets call it what it is, a hatewagon. Terminally online individuals are bored. They looking for something new and their lack of real world experience leads to wish of any to reaction to their takes no matter the quality or sensitivity of their take. They register reaction itself as an importance of their active existence on that website.

The culture war has turned a good protion of many fandoms into the exact thing that woke people claimed they were. I feel like this is a weird thing to say as someone in their mid twenties, but I remember a time when it was a silly thought that fandoms were full of racist and sexist people. It was just a reaction to shitty products made to shamelessly pander. Now it's gotten to the point that even the sight of a woman or minority is enough to send some people into a fit of rage. I've seen the term "woke right" floating around and I think it perfectly describes this group of people.

I have to say, I like monsters species in fantasy and rpg, BUT by making orcs more and more of a main specie , I do like them having more culture besides evil, like I for one like mexican/cowboy orcs THAT are also a group of species tbat were driven away from most societies and now are more warlike and prejudiced because of it

The thing that bothers me about the whole argument is that, in the book, all the races/species/folk/kin have an image of members of that group just hanging out and having a good time. In context, this doesn’t really stand out in any wild way.

If, in your campaign, you want your orcs to be nearly mindless purveyors of violence who were created by dark magic to be the thralls of evil sorcerers, you can do that. If you want them to be tribalistic nomads with traditions of shamanistic spirituality, you can do that. If you want them to be ivory tower academics who can rarely be bothered to go on adventures except for research, you can do that, too. But the current holders of D&D have started to proscribe that there were "right" and "wrong" ways to play, far beyond wanting to corral their customers into their worlds and rules so they can keep selling books. D&D has become less inclusive under Hasbro, regardless of the banners they wave, and it's reflected in conventions and online discourse.

If you got a minority or a female as an MC it's just considered DEI at this point like both sides getting mad annoying now. Wait til they learn about the MC from Blue Eyed Samurai they might really freak tf out.

I am sympathetic to stuff such as traditionally male/white/other majority hobbies and media being warped and degraded, because a lot of entertainment people especially recently just really hate the audience, are misanthropic, and intentionally try to rile up hatred for marketing. A lot of leftist people try to act as if media/spaces for non-marginalized folks is a horrendous injustice that must be corrected, and they try to take over and then kick out the people who started the hobby/space in the first place. Like as if such people existing by themselves is by itself a bad thing, and that they can't experience bigotry. Like this stuff is just literally saying "men, white people, straight people, etc, don't deserve representation and we should remove the representation they already have."
