A hawk attacked a squirrel, and then this happened...

Pretty sure it's not the same squirrel. It would have sustained too much damage from the hawk's talons, which would be easily visible. Not to mention that the squirrel at the end has a very fresh, small flesh would on its side, not in the abdomen.

A few months ago, we had some rats move to our yard from a renovated home next door that was gutted. A Cooper's Hawk AKA Sparrowhawk got a large one, and feasted on it. After that, we didn't see the rats anymore. Not sure if they decided it's better to move on, or if the hawks cleaned them all up. (We have a mated pair that hangs around due to the song birds we feed.) I was just shocked that they actually go after rodents as well as sparrows.

I love raptors, and love to take photos and videos of them when I can.
