or pick up some sink drain cleaner at lowes. its cheap, its quick, and it works. I used half of a small bottle of Zel and within the 5 minute instruction time, my sink that had gotten so slow it was basically stopped, was flowing free again.

Horrible advice if you have an old p trap this is a perfect way to blow it off and flood your cabinet

Here’s an easy tip a long bottle cleaning brush. Get all the hair and gunk out. Then pour 1 cup of baking soda, 2 cups white Vinegar down the drain, baking soda first. Let sit 10 min. Poor boiled kettle water or medium size pot of water down the drain. That’s it! Works ever time, in bathroom sink. Wallah! ❤ Your welcome.

If you can find the outlet outside and you can slide a hose up the pipe, put on the water and the gugh will loosen and you will be as to flush it out. It will return to the shower or sink. It works.

Don't plunge if you have copper drain pipes. It will make pin holes explode. Don't ask me how I know.

Put salt over your sinks and toilet tanks. The Iodine Salt kill all bacteria and smells.

Pull the pop up stopper and pull the hair and soap out. Cuz what you have done is push it further down. Your plumber could have told you that.

I have extremely long hair and over time those onesy twosies pieces of hair add up. The hair ball was 12 inches long.... So gross

You can block the overflow hole with tape if your finger is too small. Then you also have both hands to use the plunger.

I have seen so many blown out basket strainers from people plunging their sinks. Dont freaking do it people!! This guys a hack. If you can't clear the clog by taking the trap out and cleaning it, call the plumber. Keep the plunger out of your sinks.

My bathroom sink was clogged and today with a glug glug glug and whoosh, it self rectified on the morning they were coming to fix it. Cancelled

I use a shop vac to suck all the hair and goo out of the drain .

Try to catch all that nastiness with a paper towel or something, don't let it go back down the drain, you'll be back in 2 weeks

Go under the sink and remove the retainer that holds the stopper. Most of the time you have hair that's clogging your drain.

Wow this is amazing....I was in bed when I saw this and decided to try it out on my sink, which has been clogged for the past one week. I had been plungin with the hole open so it wasn't unclogging. Covered the hole and I was done in less than 5 minutes... thank you very much!!

When I saw the black gunk come up into my sink and was floating around, I captured it all in a little hand-held strainer so it wouldn't go back down into the drain. Why would you let that same gunk go back down into your pipes again?

Get some Drano. Works like a charm.....it may take you some doing with your plunger, but it really cleared open my drain. I needed more than the plunger.

you can unscreaw metal plugger to properly access the drain mmm

Um please make sure that plug isn't one of those push downs before using that plunger cause otherwise its gonna be a huge mess.

you can unscrew the drain stopper on that model, makes it easier to use the plunger.

Also, some drain cleaner will help clear up the pipes before you plunge if it's a slow drain. Otherwise plunge and then get it to a slow drain, use some drain cleaner and run the water slowly, when it fills up you can go back to plunging until it drains faster than it fills.

Why would you send the same dirt back down that caused the backup in the first place?

I like to use those drain brushes but I guess if the clog is really tight, then the plunger would work better.

This is so awesome brother I was taught this about five years ago. I would always get myself in major trouble trying to disconnect pop-up assembly or P-trap and a very wise man showed me this trick. Good job brother this is making me smile today so many other plumbers will go out to this home and sell a bunch of unnecessary repairs.
