First flight with them in oct. Unfortunately the plane ticket with luggage upgrade turned into similar price with air canada price with similar luggage. So will just go with it and see how it goes. Plus me and my brother dont mind buying snacks and drinks at the airport after security for thw flight. We dont like plane food anyways
ОтветитьI’m trying to book a flight from LAX to Tokyo but it’s asking for a Destination Address (for entering the US?) I’m not sure if they need a Japanese address we’re staying at or for when we come back to the US. Any advice?
ОтветитьBe sure to read the forums. This is a BAD company. They SYTEMATICALLY ripped us off for $3200. Full on ripped us off. We Tried to change dates within 24 hours and they cancelled our flights and kept the cash. wouldn't even let us keep the original dates. Basically robbed us. We are not the only ones. Read up on them. We dropped our Venture Capital card due to their apathy and so our credit took the hit. But right is right. Zipair is a nightmare. Maybe they only want Japanese people using their airline? Not very Japanese. I see them as theives. Caveat Emptor.
ОтветитьHello, thank you for the amazing honest review, especially pointing out the negatives. I'm wondering if you remember if the armrests could move all the way up? I'm a wider person, so we're debating buying a third seat
Their website states which seats have / don't have moveable armrests--but not how much the armrests move
Thanks so much
hi there, just booked a flight w them(2 person) would like to check will we be randomly assigned seats if we didn’t pay for seating in advance, and any chance they would assign both my friend & i together? thanks a lot!
ОтветитьThe flight was uneventful, cabin was clean. I struggled to connect to the inflight wifi, and the air hostess showed her displeasure when using her tablet to take my order. The food portions were small, but the taste was fine. More drink options would have been welcome. The airline charges extra for everything. Unfortunately, one passenger from our group had a last-minute emergency, and we lost money as a result. I can recover a small amount that was paid towards taxes, but the refund process takes 60 days. Customer service responds slowly to emails, taking a few days to reply.
ОтветитьGreat video, I'm flying next month, I was wondering, do the dimensions of the check in baggage matter? Or as long as it's 30kg or less I'm fine?
ОтветитьAbout to take it to Japan and a bit worried...never been to Asia before but have been all over Europe and I have always depended on the in flight entertainment to kill the long travel time...glad I watched this so I know how to prepare
ОтветитьIf you want to cancel a reservation you will get almost nothing to refund. I booked a ticket for my daughter and paid $384. Due to duplicated reservations I had to cancel one but got $40 back.
ОтветитьWorst airline
ОтветитьAvoid this japan shiiit
ОтветитьPaid for shitty food

ОтветитьHi I wonder if my carry on is weighted over 7kg at the check in counter, will the staff charges me the fee? Another question, can I bring foods and drinks I buy in the airport to the airplane?
ОтветитьStay away shifty airlines
ОтветитьUse good airlines for 200 more get free siutcase food
ОтветитьThe only issue I had with zipair coming back from narita. Was people over packing being over weight and the people just unpacking right at the counter and looked like they packed their whole house in there…. It’s more the people than the airline
ОтветитьThinking about taking Zipair to go home for Christmas from Japan (even though I wasn't planning to go home again this year to save money for family Thailand trip next Christmas, but I could swing it for Zip price). I recently took a different Japanese budget line to Korea, and the entertainment choices were super limited. You connected to a special wifi onboard and viewed them on your phone-- but it was only a three hour flight, so I could just read my book if there wasn't anything I wanted to watch. Was it the same on Zipair?
Ответитьdo you know, can we choose the seat online?
ОтветитьShit I'm bringing banh mi on my flight lol
ОтветитьThank you for the review
ОтветитьIt’s easy to weigh your luggage before the flight. Most hotels have scales so you can check it before leaving.
I think zipair is at par with other budget airlines & they have the same rules but for me, service is better.
The food is prepared in SanJose. If food ain’t good, tat’s the poor quality by SanJose airport catering.
ОтветитьTruly the worst airline. Their customer support is nonsensical and unhelpful. We purchased an extra seat to have extra space and they did not save our seat reservation!! Why would anyone buy an extra seat if it’s not adjacent to their own seat??
ОтветитьI like what you do lady; keep em comin.

What about the space of the seats? are they Ok? Thank you!
ОтветитьPlanning on using Zip Air and this review doesn’t scare me away from it. 1. Be early to your flight and don’t stress about check in 2. Be an adult and don’t over pack and go over weight 3. Bring water to last your trip 4. Travel comfortably and avoid feeling over heated or too cold (sweats)
ОтветитьGreat information to know if you have never traveled on Zip or have never traveled to Japan. Very informative! Thank you
ОтветитьFlew them 2 days ago they are a good airline
ОтветитьI rather pay for food and other items at my destination so decided to give this airline a try for my next Japan trip! Thanks for the review.
ОтветитьThe weight is only for carry on bags right???
ОтветитьThat curry looked like what you find in a porta potty after a music festival. Nasty.
ОтветитьYou are very good!!! Thank you for this review!
Ответитьcan you buy water on the flight??
Ответить250$ one way for 10 hours is a steel
ОтветитьI just found out that ZipAir only allows passengers over 7 in the lay flat. One of my two children is 5, which means one adult is required to sit next to the standard non lay flat and the other adult gets to enjoy lay flat with our older child. In this case, can I know if the standard (which I suppose is “economy” in other airlines) arm rest can be lifted allowing my younger child to lay down on my lap? The premium economy of the SQ arm rest does not lift up which caused my children fatigue.
ОтветитьThis is a perfect video to help me decide. Thank you! One question to help me choose... Did it ever get cooler in the cabin? if it did, how long did it take for it to cool off? Thank you in advance!
ОтветитьPlease speak properly
Ответитьfor a short flight in order to save money: Yes! But for a long flight, the accommodation is too cheap and uncomfortable!
ОтветитьSuper helpful thank you!
ОтветитьEvery airlines is super strict with the weight limits for bags. Even with JAL or ANA ive had to move things from one bag to another even if it was 1kg over
ОтветитьBudget airline make sense for short haul flights.
ОтветитьThey are a NO FRILLS airline. You get what you pay for. You paid $900. So you would rather pay $1800 for the few things you missed out on. That doesn't mean a whole lot of sense to me.
ОтветитьI'm curious, I plan on taking this from the Bay Area to Tokyo - my only real concern is leg room, as I'm reasonably tall (190cm/6'4") - do you have any insight into this?
ОтветитьIt seems you get what you pay for. Maybe it's easier to take to other countries, but bringing omiyage makes it much more difficult to figure out the right luggage weight. Omiyage is always the biggest nightmare! 😂 We always dedicate one entire large luggage just for omiyage. (And then we have to cram the leftovers into the other bags and backpacks.)🙃
ОтветитьWe are about to go and we don’t know if the flight is pretty good, so I still had some question. TYSM FOR ANSWERING THEM. but r u sure they don’t weight our bags?
ОтветитьI forgot to ask....where did you buy your reservations and tickets? Was it directly from ZipAir's official website? Or did you use another site, like Google Fllghts or Expedia? (I'm curious as to how different those experiences would be.)
ОтветитьI've watched a few of your videos regarding Zipair - they're very informative, thank you! Question, please: How tall is your husband and how would he rate the comfort of the seats. I'm just under 6'3 and worry that I'll be uncomfortable. Also, I'm presuming that you are allowed to get up and stretch/walk from time to time (beyond bathroom use), yes?
ОтветитьThanks for the video! A friend and his family (total 5) are flying out in July on Zipair. For me, luggage weight limits are a deal breaker for me, HOWEVER, I'm learning to pack light in order to load up on goodies on the flight home. We just got back from Japan flying JAL which is the parent of Zipair. We flew out in late February/return mid March on Premium Economy. We had a check-in weight limit of 23Kg/50lbs per bag and allows two check-ins. I'd rather bring my own food (bento, onigiri, sando, snacks) and entertainment (laptop). JAL food, as a comparison, on the way to Japan was good, the way home, overcooked and abysmal. Flight costs: $910 per person (02/2025).
ОтветитьDoes anyone know if they measure? I’ve been stressed about my personal item.
