I have worked in a factory. They only had european brand in the machines but one time they bought a chinese machine, that thing was total garbage. It was a big washer for windows and that thing rusted, from the inside and electric was a mess. So I totally get way no one wants to buy anything expansive from China.

The thing is, these jets are not dirt cheap and they perform like last generation platforms, there are already a myriad of last generation fighters out there on the market that can fit whatever your use case may be. When Denmark will sell an f-16 for like 12 million why would you spend 120 million a j-20 unless you are sanctioned? Right now the The F-35's price per unit, including ancillary costs like depot maintenance, ground support equipment, and spare parts is between 110 and 140 million depending on variant and optional features.

I would say it's not a technological issue that people don't buy from China, it's their attitude towards their neighbors, people don't like the Chinese Governments.
