I owned a 78 at one time had a big cam 400 with a 13 over loved that truck
ОтветитьNice truck. The last four new freightliner trucks dad bought were 1974s from Portland or. Surprise two came with positive ground! What a screwed up mess that was. You couldn't switch radios they burned out. You couldn't jump start trucks safely. Those radio mounts always fell apart. Anyway you mount that radio will be better that cheap plastic factory mount. Especially if you have Hendrickson suspention! Thanks good video.
ОтветитьHey there. Love the truck especially those spoke wheels. I am in southwestern Ontario. Good to know you eh!
ОтветитьMy late father drove a white freightliner in the late 70s/80s for Transx out of Winnipeg Manitoba...I was a kid when we traveled to Toronto hauling freight one way and cattle back...I miss those days as a kid
ОтветитьVery nice, do you work these tractors at all hauling farm equipment etc? Would love to hear your 8V92 Pete pulling a load.:)
ОтветитьIs it for sale interrested
ОтветитьAll that had was a big bed no room in the cab
ОтветитьThat is the nicest old Cabover Freigtliner I have ever seen, some of the Canadian models had the trolley brake on the dog box.
ОтветитьYOU NEED TO OUT MICROPHONE CLOSER. MY VOLUME IS MAXED ITS HARD TO HEAR YOU..MIC. CLOSE R TO YUR FACE.
ОтветитьU should install some led headlights
ОтветитьI like this old Freightshaker truck.
ОтветитьAre you sure thats a 1978? My 1976 had the two bar grille and big freightliner emblems the same interier and dash except in blue this one looks more like a 1971 ,,72
Ответитьgotta lose those air deflectors man
Ответитьnot a 78. pieced together truck
ОтветитьDamn man how many cool trucks do you own ?
ОтветитьBellissimo battle convoy! :)
ОтветитьBest looking and most iconic COE, only in my opinion of course. And the spoke wheels, real truck wheels. 👍
ОтветитьI work for a Freightliner dealership over here in BC as a 22 yr old. Love the old cab overs! Would love to see an old cab over someday in person. We dont see too many cab overs around here.
ОтветитьDude that's a nice interior all diamond stitched impressed
ОтветитьI love the video
ОтветитьI've got my volume turned all the way up to 100% and cannot hardly hear you, speak up.
ОтветитьVery nice
ОтветитьWould you say that your Truck is the Definitive Optimus Prime? I noticed that Prime has angle cut wheel wells and four lights on top none in the middle and a angled bumper with light package. His also doesn't have the side grips to get in the cab and his foot ladder is all red. The windows are also smaller and more close together and the Radiator center is longer. I don't know which model he is but i suspect either a 78 Freightliner Cabover or an 83. I can't get it right. The show was aired in 1984 so either it's an 83 or a 79 or 78. Usually in filming if a show or movie has to do production they generally start design the year before. I can't believe that Prime would be anything but an 83 or 78/79. I really have a need to know. What i have found as tells is that Angled Cut wheel well and the windows and the angle of the cab near the windshields. Thanks A lot and I love your Truck.
ОтветитьI liked the shifter on the floor when they did away with the shift tower and put the short stick it sucked i hated that little stick,That interior is exactly like my 1976 was except mine was blue that dash was my favorite freightliner had the newer dashes were crap they rattle and crack the roof air is different mine had a big black unit on the roof, but i loved the dash
ОтветитьAwesome machine. Remember building a model of this truck when I was a kid.
ОтветитьMy question is is there even a rooftop ac unit still working? They seem to all be broken now. Still dont know what they sound like.
ОтветитьCheck out those Widow Maker rims!! Cool rig...
ОтветитьWow ! awesome. A real gem
ОтветитьPut a lot of miles in one of those.
ОтветитьNice truck .
ОтветитьIts in great shape man! Considering how beat up these pop delivery trucks can get on the job
ОтветитьI work at a truck wrecking yard in western Nebraska, I think we have a few of them, not narrow or Canada. But,cool ol trucks. Thanks for the video
ОтветитьI just keep going back to this vid. So the grill with the one bar has a smaller cab and the grill with two has the wider cab? That is wierd. I always noticed they looked different but didn't know why.
ОтветитьYour truck is amazingly good and original. I've got a radio pedestal and cover. It's yours just for the shipping from Regina. Not sure how to contact you. Reply on my channel.
ОтветитьLooks like it has the touch and the power!
ОтветитьSo you have a truck now what?
ОтветитьOptimus Prime G1
ОтветитьOptimus Prime..... is that you?
ОтветитьOctomus Prime
ОтветитьLove it! This is Optimus Prime!
ОтветитьThat is one pretty old truck, especially on the inside! Glad to see that she's in good hands instead of rotting away in the back lot of some junkyard somewhere.
ОтветитьYou are very lucky to own such a beautiful truck.
ОтветитьMy uncle had the exact same truck except it was blue. I used to climb inside of it and play around 1987-1988 . The moment I saw this video and the truck inside , I smelled what my uncles truck smelled back them. Crazy the way the mind works.
ОтветитьBe sweet if you could expand the sleeper :-) Beauds man! NOICE!
ОтветитьGeez man….nice truck but you put me to sleep
ОтветитьGood lords I love these old era classic paint jobs they have, such art in them, Coke on the side, I love G1 Optimus like the next nerd but for the love of all things I could not even attempt to turn one of these into him, unless it was pretty fubared, like rust all over the cabin and parts fell off, I would love nothing more than drive down route 66 while listening to 60's era metal,
ОтветитьTo do list remove Canada (decals).
Ответить73, retired for a few years now, I enjoyed back in the day working on over the over road big rigs, I worked for Empire White trucks, something like 1969 to 73, 74 maybe, I did a number of king pin work on those cab overs back in the day, I was noticing those front wheels, old school... amen. looks a little lopsided. Something to be sure of it gets corrected. I did a lot of walking beam bushings, and wiring problems... generally some one else hacked up some. "-)
