Not sure why this is called "Jules Verne's". If there is one thing this movie is not: Similar to a Jules Verne story. The sanctuary, the megafauna, the pirates; the mad Nemo, even the party itself; nothing in the story stems from JV..

In the scene with the mother going to the beach to wash her clothes right before the scene where the daughter meets the Pirate, i just love how they didnt even bother to retake the scene or blur out the motorboat you can see sail past a bit out in the water 🤣

So funny seeing modern ships around the island

This version is like an underpaid back to school saturday tv movie. The pirate captain was a total joke and so was his crew. How sad Patrick Steward was cast with all those losers. It has a 4 out of 10 rating. I sped through the second half because it was so farcical.

This a great adventure/action movie,,, 👍👍Like.

These kinds of movies are just so relaxing to watch, Yes not the greatest movie ever made but a wonderful charm all it's own one to have in your dvd collection Patrick Stewart is such a great actor in all his Hallmark and TNT Tv movies from the past. All must owns.

Awesome movie!

When the pirates went on the shore to get the Medalion back I counted 14 men including the captain. 13 were shot and killed and when they left and 7 went back to the ship????

Not Jules Verne, not The Mysterious Island... but a fun movie very loosely based on that story.Worth watching, but I encourage you to read the original for the real magic.

Hollywood flicks must always have the "comic relief" character'. That pseudo-southern Pencroff guy with the curly mustache is the comic reliever in this movie. Did you guess it? What a sick farce. What is Sir Patrick Stewart doing in such a diseased flick?

Was this damned thing made by a committee? They basically took a list of cliches and sprinkled on a bit of pirates and Nemo, this was not half baked this was not baked at all. P U this stunk.

Fond memories.

I've seen all the movie versions. but I can't remember if I've read any of Verne's books. Mysterious Island has rekindled my desire to go back to the originals. Good casting and beautiful locations. Thank you for three hours well spent.
