I bought my chibson from a guy in Atlanta. He tried to conveniently it it was a Gibson. But I knew it was by the serial number and the 3 price head stock. I have 0 problems with mine. All I did was had my luthier check the frets crown then, and put 500k pots in it. Wow it’s sound high and full now. Don’t know what kind of pickups is in it but I never change them out. My luthier wax pot the wires to for feedback . If Gibson were to come down on there prices maybe the Chinese might stop producing them but, I don’t think so, if you get one just be prepared to change the pots that come in them. There cheap, and so is the hardware, just be ready to mod.
ОтветитьI own multiple real Gibson and a Chibson , there all great in there own right, as long as we ain’t ripping people off
ОтветитьOi, Max! Onde você comprou, pode passar o link?
ОтветитьI’ve heard a saying that sounds better in puertorican Spanish NO ES LA FLECHA, ES EL INDIO
ОтветитьThe weird horn shape is almost always a giveaway, plus the long headstock.
ОтветитьI absolutely want a Chibson. First thing I would do is completely gut it and put the electronics I want in.
ОтветитьThe flame top on this one is beautiful
ОтветитьI just ordered a 59 Les Paul Chibson in purple. I am now primarily a uke player and about 20 years ago i bought an authentically PSA Signed pickguard by LES Paul on a Les Paul copy. I decided it would look better on.display on a Chibson..As im not platlying guitar much now the copy is better if its merely on display. Ironically my daughter works as a patent lawyer. 😂
ОтветитьI recently bought a Lefty Rickenbacker Chichenbacker lol.. from Ali and asked them to produce it with OEM specs. I have bought several guitars from them with varing results and out of 3, I kept one.. a Les Paul custom. The trick for me was specifying OEM... So, after some back and forth with Ali, what I recieved dropped me to my knees...... It is beautiful and the quality is nearly dead on.. Not to say there were some small issues.. the headstock was a 16th off in length, "just saying not judging" lol.. and the interior headstock route for the small octave strings was a tiny bit tight. The Rickenbacker name plate on the headstock was obviously not right, but close and would probly pass to a novice. Intrestingly I found a real OEM lefty 121 string name plate on Reverb a few years earlier and grabed that knowing I would eventually be getting one of these eventually... Great score! It was destiny! lol.. Anyway, every other detail concerning body contours, width, binding, including the checkerboard binding,, shark tooth sound hole, so on were dead on. Even the flame top had a ton of movement.. I didnt expect nor did i get crushed pearl inlays going from the neck binding all the way to the other side of the fingerboard, but overall I'm as happy as I can be and soooooo glad I did it.. Good luck finding a Fire glow Lefty 381 for 325.00 w case. lol.. So, this is definitely the right choice for getting your deram guitar if you don't have a house to re-finance for a real one! lol...
ОтветитьDont put these to one side. China built guitars are amazingly good for the money. Look at the Byrd land style for US500.00. Astonishing
Ответитьis it just me or are the pickups not mounted straight / pickup rings are not parallel to each other?
ОтветитьYou can't fool us, John Travolta!
ОтветитьEven Slash owns two Gibson copies played in the AFD 🤷 so, Why won't I?.
ОтветитьIn my opinion Gibson needs to lower the cost of their guitars so working people can buy one, im more of a strat man, and i have some U.S.made strats that are 30 years old, a great Japan made 62 strat reissue made in 1985, but ive had some great Ibanez, prs se's, that play and sound great, and i recently bought a Real Gibson Studio model made in 2014 for 700 dollars used, and i love it, the neck is 60's profile so its not chunky, but its just that i think Gibson could ease off on their prices a bit, but, i wouldnt buy a new one if i could because to me me their not as good as the older ones, the best Les Paul's ive ever played were from the 90's, but as far as buying a Chipson? Thats up to each individual, i personally would save up and buy a Real used Gibson ,if thats your preference ,and dont have to worry about something fake, and then spend another 400 dollars for pickups, and pots and whatever, and still know that its not Real, and then factor in the wood, finish, fretts?? But as i said, to each his own, and, your Amp? What are you playing thru, but thats another story..
ОтветитьI mean it sounds good and looks cool. I really don't see the issue with owning a counterfeit. I do think removing logos is a good idea and or just never re-selling it
ОтветитьI cannot wait until we get a Chibson PRS
ОтветитьSounds like a shitty Gibson to me they all sound like that and they all play like hell it’s great that somebody would want to copy that though
ОтветитьWhere do you buy one?
ОтветитьHi sir Guitar Max can i have the fake les paul thats my dream guitar thanks
ОтветитьI walked into a music shop in Fond du Lac Wisconsin a few years back to buy some picks. While inside I saw a Jay Turser ES-335 copy, tried it through a nice Fender tube amp, and walked out with it. $250, and it included a nice Washburn hardshell guitar-shaped case. It's my favorite guitar. It feels and sounds amazing. I have 12 guitars, and none are Fenders or Gibsons, though I do have a nice Larrivee acoustic and three by Ibanez.
ОтветитьPots and switches are easy and cheap.
ОтветитьI bought a Gibson Les Paul 2016 studio model ( made in USA) for about close to US 1000.00 , needless to say the fret work at the edges of the guitar were pretty bad!!!! I agree the Les I bought was a budget issue, still for a grand one expects some quality, pretty disappointing stuff Gibson comes up with lately!!!
ОтветитьIt's bad news for Gibson. but it's their own fault for making crappy guitars.
ОтветитьI bought a chibson cherry burst standard LP, and I plan to relic it myself, first thing I will do is scotch brite pads, to take off the shiny poly look, I plan on taking it almost down to the wood, trying not to sand away the flame maple veneer, fun winter project, and these guitars are as good as any epiphone LP, might even be better because of the fretboard material, fake rosewood looks better than richlite to me.
ОтветитьI'd lean into the fake lol, get the headstock resprayed to read "chibson" and get a truss rod cover that reads "lawsuit model"
ОтветитьYou can't buy the raw wood for the cost of this finished guitar so Electronics and Hardware replacement costs are a reasonable Idea.
ОтветитьBuying these things is theft and supports the Chinese Community Party.
ОтветитьI bought a Chibson a few years ago coz I was starting to hear a lot about them. I bought a Les Paul Custom but while I was waiting for it to arrive I also bought a a complete Epiphone pick up and wiring kit and some Grover tuners so when the guitar arrived I swapped all the parts with the ones I'd bought for it. They are getting better at making these Chibsons. It even had binding over the fret ends, like a real Gibson and with the wiring and tuners sorted, it's actually not a bad guitar. Like u said, if u buy one of these and are willing to spend a little more on them they can b an ok guitar, if u can get around the principles of playing a counterfeit guitar. Mine is ok.
ОтветитьWhat pick up did u use
ОтветитьSOME OF THE FINEST QUALITY INSTRUMENTS EVER MADE. GIBSON COULD LEARN SOMETHING HERE BUT THEY WON'T.
Ответитьprs tremonti se blows any gibson away. FACT.
ОтветитьI purchased my chibson some years ago expecting that l would have to replace electrics and tuners and all the normal things you would expect to find in a cheap made copy guitar.
7 years on l have replaced nothing , only one string needed a little intonation adjustment. I replaced strings as normal with chibson guitars.
The guitar as purchased sounds to my ears perfect. I collect guitars and now have 12 in total some USA manufactured and other original guitars l play them all from time to time and enjoy the experience.
I replaced all the Electronics with high end parts. My Chibson les paul is at least a 4 piece body. It is not as well made as my Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul that is Korean made. And its not even close to any of my actual Gibson Les pauls. But at first glance to the layperson its an Iced Tea Highly flamed Les Paul. It plays great and with the upgraded waffle-backs it stays in tune as well as any gibson (G String). I added Gibson Version 1 Burstbucker Pros Matched Set, Vintage Bumble bee capacitors, switch craft switch, Sealed Canadian PEC Potentiometers and a buss wire ground on all 4 pots. Tone Pros Bridge and tailpiece. WIth this hardware and electronics upgrade this guitar can stand up to any gibson as long as the glue joints hold LOL!
ОтветитьA gig and guitar in hand is worth more than 2 air guitars... And it can you some bush! 🎸😂 🎉
ОтветитьMy Chibson had peculiar pups, so I replaced them with some SD stuff. Recently I had to replace the tuners because one stopped working. The guitar itself is great though, even the nut. Very light as well.
Ответитьwhy are these guitars so cheap? the answer is simple.. cheap labor cost.. build that cost $2 a day vs $15/hour
ОтветитьUpgraded everything even the truss rod.
ОтветитьAny chance anyone can tell me where to buy a chibson like this?
ОтветитьI think I will buy one, I dont care much for brand names as I just want one to mess around with. The only thing being knocked off is the actual name as there are a million Les Paul copies out there and they dont get called a knock off or fake. Probably the only decent product coming out of China
ОтветитьIn a way it actually works out for Gibson. The Gibson's that have QC issues, Gibson can always blame their real flawed Gibson on the Chibson, then there's no warranty rework either. Just kidding about all that. Reality is if I can't make good music with a sub $ 300 guitar after a little work to make it even more playable, that's someone else's guitar to purchase. Every guitar that has been reviewed on your channel has really sounded quite good and that doesn't even have the qualifier "for the money, bang for the buck or whatever anyone would say to validate a Chinese guitar". So that's where I am on that subject. If it holds up for a decade or 2, even 3+. The $ 300 or less guitar is a bargain, not much to lose even if given away. I mean a 20 year old $ 100 Chinese guitar is $ 5/year to own & play. What is that, a package of D'Addario strings on sale ?
ОтветитьNobody seems to compliment his playing. Great picking man 👨 👏
Ответитьsometimes guitar playing can really make the guitar sound terrible
Ответитьdremel tool , back of head stock , cut in [ copy , or I like nada gibson ] . That's what I do .
ОтветитьI live in the netherlands and there are so many les Paul type guitars from other brands that we don’t have a need for chibsons. I’ve bought a Godman les Paul past week. Costet me 90 euro’s Just needs new tuners and pots, switch and Jack. So for 250 euro’s you can have an amazing guitar with stunning sounding pickups. It’s the perfect guitar tot gigging. No need for chibson or even a Gibson (wich I do have). Just look at Marketplace for an alternative from Korea or Japan from begin 2000 at a low price.
ОтветитьA chibson is a product by gibson fans that tried to fix the imperfections from the original gibson.
ОтветитьI bought a Chibson Gold Top about 5 years ago,TBH the gold paint job was rubbish. I changed out the electrics and Pickups and also put new tuners on and its been my number 1 guitar for 5 years with no issues at all, fast forward 5 years and I finally took the guitar to a mate to have it stripped and re painted, Low and behold when it was stripped it revealed it had been a beautiful Lemon drop with a thick book matched AAA maple top so it is now a Lemon Drop and it looks awesome. To say I'm happy with it is an understatement I'm sure it will serve me well for may years to come. my other guitars at home are nothing flash just the old bog standard Gibson's :0))
ОтветитьSounded like led zeppelins since Ive been loving you.
ОтветитьI don't have a problem with them . I bought a jimmy page #2 less paul from China bout 6 years ago. Looks good, feels solid and really like the neck. I would have kept the Gibson logo off if I knew I could . Next is a kirk hammett esp copy ouija board. I'm gonna ask to keep esp off headstock but keep Kirk's signature since it is a copy of his. Plan on changing the hardware out.
ОтветитьWhat about all those buyers' wallets that Gibson violated for decades? They feel no remorse. Payback time, bishes!
