Great video! But this was more of a “Parasitic draw” tutorial. NOT a short. A true short would have blown the fuse (making your amp draw test pointless as no current would flow thru your burned fuse anyway).

How do you install the transmitter onto the fuse ? 🙏🏽

it might look simple to someone who already knows this ... but for the noob it is worth a lot of money. Thank you!

Can you remove the fuses on the second process for modern cars and test the amp like in the first car instead of mv? Millivolts?

You misstated current flow. It flows from negative to positive

This is not a SHORT. This is a parasitic loss. Completely different things. Video title is misleading.

hi, great video! but a quick question, if your subwoofer wires were short, how was the fuse not blown? or do you not have separate fuse for sub?

Kindly state the settings on your multimedia again before testing for the parasitic draw.

Another common problem with Radio Installations is the Service Tech uses the Clock Hot Always ON instead of switched HOT and is OFF when the Key is OFF. Great Video. Good Job finding that Fire Hazard.

This is actually not a test for a short, this is more of a parasitic drain test.

Nice job with the video and the explanations. From the looks of the shorted / melted wires and melted plastic this car owner was very fortunate to have not experienced a fire.

This video is not telling you how to find a short in a circuit. Its showing you how to find a Parasitic Drain in a circuit. A short is positive going to directly to ground. People need to stop using the term short circuit Interchangeably.

The fuse that you pulled out you said there was low voltage but was the fuse broken in half? Would a test light still light up if you touched both pins of that fuse?

I have an electrical issue with my car,it had a coolant leaked and over the starter and that prevented the car from starting,no lights or anything will work,I replaced the starter and put a new battery but it drains the battery overnight, any thoughts of what could be the problem?
Your video is very helpful I’m going to try to find the problem in the weekend. Thanks for uploading
