Isn't TPMS mandatory in all cars from the factory?

This is too much work to go in and ask for what they paid for certain items. My time is too valuable go and make an offer they take it they take it they don’t walk out.

This is such a shady business model that I wish would disappear. Imagine going to a local grocery store to buy some eggs, but they will only sell you the eggs if you pay extra for a deluxe carrying case and breakage insurance. Auto dealerships are no different and only exist because of anti-consumer laws.

Looking for a reasonable low miles used car and have not seen that "used car prices meltdown" anywhere. Have been comparing for last 4 months and nada so far.

The current car market is if you don't take those overpriced add-ons. Thank you. The next customer is going to take it. For Toyota Sienna is like this, most cars are sold before reaching the dealership. If you don't want those addons, the next guy will pay for it.

Take a screenshot from the website. If it’s listed for prices ‘X’ they HAVE to sell it to you for that price. Or if you want to press it threaten lawsuits for false advertisement

I went to a toyota dealership today and the msrp on a corolla is 25k on that trim. Additional accessories are another 7k. Not only are they adding other crap to make more expensive, but they wont negotiate at all. Keep in mind that total price doesnt include the extended warranty they will try to add to the total price. Im not gana pay around 40k for a corolla lol. I even asked i wanted to order a car from factory. They said we never do that which is bs. So then i told them i ordered a jeep wrangler from factory. So then he came back saying well if we order one its gana take about 6 months. I told him thats fine im not in a rush to get it. They didnt want to move forward with the order. Ridiculous

The value of 52,000 but the dealer wants 61,000 if you pulled out of that driveway and had an accident you're going to eat a lot of money. The tire monitor system in the wells which I hate but was added to the newer car by the government telling the manufacturers. I also dislike the nitrogen air that deals charges for the air it has to be in the tire for the car to roll. Want to charge for nitrogen 40 dollars, not 200 or 300 hundred dollars.

Canada is worse. The used hyundais are all selling for 10k over the new car msrp. It's bonkers. People are stoopid for buying them otherwise the prices would drop.

Dodge is the worst at add on manipulation. I asked to see a Charger with no add ons, and they didn’t have any. So i had to walk out.
I was going to pay cash in full. So it worked out because i ended up investing and am better off now. I can now look for a way better car than Dodge can offer.

I think there should be a law against this. Many people are gullible and are getting ripped off by this outrageous mark up. They should sell the car and they have the right to upsell, but they should not have a right to add stuff to the car that you didn’t even have the right to decide if you want that add on.

Imagine charging someone for a TPMS when those sensors have been stock on cars for the last 25 years.

Most of those parts probably come with the car from the manufacturer.

Can a dealer sell a new car that has been damaged as new? I have seen car dealerships that have been vandalized and cars have been bashed in. Some just broken windows, others body damage. How can they sell as new when it is now damaged?

Wont ever pay over msrp. And only willing to pay msrp on a rare vehicle. Im in the market for a ford maverick, and i still want some discount from asking price just not a big one....😅😅😅

Was at Carlsbad Ca Toyota a few months ago and they had a dealer installed charge for two windows tinted for $3999 on a GR Corolla. I just left the lot. Hate the clown circus of Toyota dealers.

I'm pretty sure the tire pressure monitoring system is standard equipment. Why they would charge you extra for something that is standard I don't know.

I am currently looking to buy a Honda pilot and they have about 4.5k over MSRP because of their add-ons. I have been calling up and down California trying to get the best OTD price with 0 add ons so far not much luck but they have discounted the add-ons . Would I be able to find a dealership that will completely take out the add-ons or dealer installed accessories?

Covid started the price wars and markups. Tesla started the lowering the price wars. People asking where is my discount. I would not buy from any dealership with add ons. I remembered GM when the Fierro arrived charging $100 for test rides. That stuff turns me off. Most foreign brands from Europe do not try that tactic

Buying a new car should be an exciting event but the salesman shenanigans really turn off alot of people. MB, BMW and other high end dealerships less shenanigans. Typically salespeople probably know you have a college degree and business sense. I traveled to a Honda and Mazda dealership for my kids 16 BD. I wanted to see how the shenanigans played out with my kids. All the cars had paint/seat treatments, and crap. My kids saw how They low balled the trade in, the sales person drinking coffee fighting in the back with the GM for the best deal, not. My kids immediately picked up on the BS. But they learned a lot. Like I said earlier, I buy at home drinking coffee with the vehicle delivered like Amazon. I recently started buying Teslas as the ease of buying and selling on my computer similar to Amazon. Not wasting hours at the dealerships. Internet pricing always better than floor pricing

Those are NOT dealer installed accessories. Those are factory accessories that the dealer is simply listing separately and tacking an arbitrary inflated price onto. Disgusting, slimy, criminal. Do NOT shop at that dealer. Report them to the manufacturer.
