NEVER give noctowl 252 hp evs if ur playing at lv. 100 due to its flying type, this is especially stupid if your using it as a defogger.

I was thinking Assault Vest, maybe? It's kind of hard to do because you have to use that other half of Noctowl that nobody likes (the offensive half), but it could really help it out. 

Noctowl should get a Mega it really needs a boost to it's stats, ability and move-pool just like pigdeot needed it.

Noctowl is one of my Favorite Gen 2 Pokemon, just due to the fact that it's good against Ghost Types, And I love Owls!!!
Plus, I always thought Noctowl was a Special Attacker, due to the fact that it can learn moves such as: Hypnosis, Dream Eater, Confusion, Psychic, etc.

But after hearing Verlisify's "How to use" video, I can see why so many people say Noctowl isn't all that great a Pokemon.
Which again, is down right depressing! :(

One of my favorite gen II pokemon and it ain't even worth using.

[Sorry for the late comment] Verlis you forgot the psycho shift+Flame orb noctowl. you can also give it magic coat to annoy the dark void master(Yeah I mentioned darkrai) and might shade and roost.

Its kinda lame that the majority of pokemon aren't really worth using :/

Gamefreak should do monthly buffs to pokemon in order to be usable and keep the metagame dynamic and changing

I've loved Noctowl for more than 3 years. It was my most favorite Pokemon until Primarina came along. I still love Noctowl after watching this video, even if its stats are bad. The moveset is quite unique; I usually use Hypnosis, Dream Eater, Sky Attack, and Feather Dance for it. This makes Noctowl very strong. I personally love owls, too.

Ability in Tinted Lenses
Modest Nature
Evs in HP and Speed
Noctowl got a 10 SpA buff in Gen 7. That might help.

Hypnosis has only a 1-out-of-2 chance of hitting but if it does it will make the game interesting and fun.

Why is noctowl not a psychic type like I thought

This is my favorite flying type. I used it in showdown yesterday and it took out a mega Charizard by itself. All Noctowl haters can fuck off!

Noctowl got +10 points to Sp.attack and Moonblast.
