What i think is units should have normal infantry using the m4 carbine and a few using the xm7 as kind of a "heavy" soldier to handle Armour/enemies hiding behind a wall/barricade

I still think the military made a huge mistake not adoption the plastic cased ammo. That ammo was more effiicient, lighter and ballistically identical. Whats even better is that it can easily be backwards compatible with all pre-existing guns already in use. Sure you can't reuse the spent casings but i highly doubt anyone in a warzone is picking up casings and reloading them later. But they will notice the extra mag they can carry because of the reduced ammo weight.

Another big problem with the XM7, is that the troops that have the XM7 are using rounds that are less powerful for practice, because the actual round is expensive. So that means that when they are using the full power round in combat, its going to shoot higher, further, and faster. I couldnt imagine having to experience that. I couldn't imagine underestimating the round and having it shoot way over an enemy in combat. Completely fucks up any doctrine. The weapon was an absolute horrible idea. The main problem i have with the gun, is that we have no stockpile of the ammunition, there is none of it, unlike the 5.56 cartridge. They should have went with 300 blackout rather than this fag round that we nothing have of.

no gun is perfect, look at how the m16 started.

Like any new weapon platform, it takes time to adjust the firearm in many variants. Even the M16, which was the early, less developed version of the M4, had many different problems, including many malfunctions and deforming.

It’s also insanely inaccurate. From what I’ve seen/heard a standard M4 has around a 2 moa and the new XM7 is 4-8 moa. Sheer unreliability.
