Do all languages have a horrible word for "pig" - in German it's "Schwein" - think swine. Does any language have a word for "pig" that isn't also used to insult people - as in "You pig!".. "You swine/Schwein!". "What a pig-sty!" ?

Those pigs get huge. Potbellied pigs are often abandoned when they grow because poeple think and are told they will remain quite small.

It worries that you never see the pigs as adults, in these videos. I can only assume the owners were totally ignorant of how big they get, and had to get rid of them.

Please please please do NOT consider getting a "pet" pig. In no way should they be indoors as their never not in a state of anxiety. Those squeals are not joy.

They root, they will flip over furniture and they will shred things. They simply want to be out in the dirt and just free. Yes, they are highly intelligent, more so than my German shepherd, but that does not mean they are happy in an indoor environment.

I have been active in rescue and fostering for years and have seen many pigs surrendered when they become too much.The last took 1-3 months till I found a petting zoo to take him in.

My favorite book when I was 3 or 4 years old was called "Emmit's Pig" it is about a little boy who wants a pig. You might like it!

I've known 2 different people who had a pet pig in their lives. One was a mixed pot bellied pig named Wimpy and a few years later a person with a small pot bellied pig named Porthos. Both were very intelligent, lovable and easily trained. I can understand anyone wanting a pig as a pet.

Why on earth would you get a pig as a pet. I mean you've trained him well, but not for me.

Almost reminds me of a guy who adopted a dwarf piglet and then it grew up to be almost 600 lbs. His story scared a lot of people on no buying a dwarf piglet for their small house or apartment. LoL.
