I just got a new pitty puppy and I thought a harness was the best for training. So glad I found this video before I taught my pup wrong. Fantastic information and technique.

Now I understand why some children grow up with behavior problems.. It's not the child...It's not the dog...it's the parent/owner.

Don't keep pulling, just little correction jerks, he will obey. If you keep pulling, he thinks it's a tug of war which NEVER ends.

It is so clear and yet, when you walk today and see most people with dogs with leash around the chest and pulling, do not try to correct them. They would tell you that they do not want to strangle the dog or they do notwant to listen to you.

I am desperate for understanding and I think between different instructors including a e collar option muzzle harness and the fact that I was soo stupid thinking I could expose and train 3 dogs at a time.I was lucky no one got hurt.I am set on only walking one dog at a time because, of a very well defined reactive pack pull happened. I now can laugh at incident with my tail between my legs. 1 dog at a time is the negative reinforcement and I suppose a little positive because we will go back to park "scene of crime "and do the leash training and correction. Dang we were lucky POOR TRUAMATIZED LITTLE BOSTON TERRIOR PUP ENDED IN RIVER BECAUSE OF ME ! But all is well. The pack will be TRAINED !wish me continued luck.

I stopped my dog from pulling in 30 seconds by putting a head collar (e.g. Gentle Leader) on him. The pulling stopped immediately, from the very first walk.

It’s so hard to imagine controlling my emotions before applying corrections. Like guiding with minimal resistance instead of tensing up and pulling back. That harness explanation also made perfect sense. My husky only pulls, even when using the front harness loop. I didn’t like the idea of a slip for the same reason the lady gave, so maybe it’s time for a change

Id like to know what kind of leash you use in this video? I am in my 50's with a large dog (100lbs) i walk her everyday but it is becoming painful and very hard on me because she pulls me so our walks have gotten shorter. I use a harness on my dog thinking that i would have better control of her on our walks but its more like she has better control of me.

Impressive that most behaviours are corrected with the leash at the top of the neck and with a calm human.
Recently (less than a week) I adopted a 1yo dog which tries to jump into moving cars. I met a dog trainer who saw me struggling holding the dog to jump over the cars and told me this exact thing to correct this behaviour, leash on top of the neck.

It's always funny when people have a dog that is pulling and then they buy a harness to reward him for it so he can pull harder 😂.

what does my dog do with a slip lead, choke himself, it does not stop him at all, only makes me have to move with him faster so he can breathe. he does not care how relaxed i am. Every walk the first 20 or so minutes is constant correction and stopping, the next 30 he walks in nearly perfect place and speed, once we're within 2-3 blocks of our house he's back to constant correction and stopping. This is every day, but seems to only have this kind of energy close to home and only outside. Only thing I can figure since most of the pulling is him trying to get to a scent is that it's the abundance of wildlife present around my home. Sorry about the rant but seeing constant videos where it's 'oh just use this kind of leash on this part of the neck, relax, and then wow, problem solved' annoys me b/c it does not work for him and if someone has any ideas about my particular situation i'd love to hear it or see it.

This is confusing the video makes it hard where the leash is and which leash he is using. Is he using the grey leash high or the red leash low? Ay the VERY end she walks away using the red leash. But during the training the high red leash is used.

I really enjoy watching your videos and find them helpful with how I interact with the two dogs in my life, my daughters very energetic cockers spanial and a lovely labrador belonging to my disabled friend. I spend at least 1/2 hour daily training and exercising the labrador in his back garden as I am scared to take him out for walks now since he pulled me over. He gets very over excited and desperate to get out of the house and runs over to other dogs as he hasn't been out for walks for years. He is too strong for me to hold but he loves his playtimes and training in the garden so i will work on my energy.

I just adopted an 8 year old part pit bull. I envisioned talking lots of walks with her but all she does is pull. She has actually pulled me over. I don't know what her history is. Having just watched 2 of your videos, I learned what I'm doing wrong. First thing is to get a lead collar and second is for me to relax. Thank you Cesar for sharing your knowledge.

My dog chokes himself, he pulls and does not give up, I try to correct him but he doesn’t leave any slack on the lead. I turn and walk the opposite direction and he does the same thing in that direction. I can stop 50 times on a walk every time he pulls and he just keeps going. I use a halty, makes no difference, he pulls with his eyes closed, put his head down and pulls more.

I had a 130lb pit bull that a pinch collar wouldn't work
I'm 6'2 330lb and he would drag me down the street and he was hyper aggressive
I used a combination of the pinch collar and a shock collar
As soon as he hit the end of the leash I'd push the button and give him my negative negative noise!!!
After 3 shocks he never pulled again
He was the strongest dog I have ever seen
I would attach his leash and the recovery rings on my jeep on flat hard ground he could pull me and it a 1/2 mile in neutral!

I wish I had the patience this man has for humans . 😇 People are the problem , that’s why I only defend myself from dog attack - euthanise the owner responsible for the dog attacking . 😉 seems l logical .👣🦘👍.

I never thought I would hear myself say this ,because what’s going on in the world is scary . However ….🤔 I’m starting to understand Klause Shwab’s perspective .

Culling overpopulated pest species has its place I suppose 🤔 .

If you look at the damage humanity has done on this planet 🤔🤔🤔you have got to recognise Humans are the most destructive animals ever too walk this earth .
