This is getting suspicious, not just Shadow Company being ambushed here in Hindsight, but also at the Shadow Siege event in the end scene. All of this events have two things in common, being ambushed by a specific PMC group called Konni and SC's Commanding Officer is Shepherd. What is Shepherd planning? Why SC is always losing? Why Konni is always ambushing?

Would've likely made more of an impact if the Shadow Company stopped their cars like they did here, but then it shows Graves listening to his comms, we faintly hear what he hears: "No loose ends..." And he replies "Yes, General. I understand..."
Steps out of his cars and sees the confused 141. They see he's having a bit of hesitance but then slowly raises his weapon, Soap, Ghost, Rudolfo and Alejandro look at each other. Then, Alejandro leaps at Graves and gets restrained and wounded. Soap escaped with an injury and the mission would be based on you finding medical supplies before you bleed out to death. That, despite having holes in it too, can call back to the "No loose ends," that was said by Shepherd in the original MW2

This twist was kind of lame.

I wish the betrayal in this game wasn’t labelled ‘Shepherd’s betrayal’ by everyone, it makes it get compared to the original too much. It’s really Graves’ betrayal more than anything. Though I don’t really have much of an issue with the new betrayal, I think it would’ve been a cooler twist if Shepherd never betrayed us in this game, so we been caught off guard even more

Honestly it’s crazy cuz shadow company really weren’t bad guys yea they betrayed 141 but it was only to hide a secret that was intended on being good but was illegal being able to play as the operator makes you kinda sympathize with shadow company a bit. Although I will say it was pretty messed up when they started killing people trying to find 141 in the Alone mission

This was a much more realistic betrayal. One with shades of grey. Shepherd wasn't a man wanting to draw more money and men into the military, the missile movement to fight the Russians in the middle east is wholly realistic, and the cover up and the levels a man would go to in order to keep his power seem realistic. They seem to be making a MUCH more compelling story in the new MW timeline.
