Love your videos man !
Keep then coming
👍
ОтветитьI was lookin at one of these for awhile. ended up going with workhorse pits
ОтветитьBeautiful smoker you get what you pay for
ОтветитьRy, I bought mine 2 years ago based solely on your video about yours and i love my 20x42. I however am getting rust between my firebox and main chamber in that same little space. Now mind you mine has sit in the weather for 2 years with a oklahoma joes cover on it.. I know bad omen right there! I do oil it about every 2 cooks being that cover isn't providing much protection. With that said Chris and Amber do make one heck of a pit that's for sure. Thinking i may need to get the 20x42 pellet but still on the fence as of now. Take care!
Ответитьthe key is maintenance for sure the oil and keeping it covered is going to help it last a lot longer for sure
Ответитьthat thing looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor… my webers would be pissed if they saw how well you maintain your smokers. lol
ОтветитьNice rundown. I'm having a little paint flake and rust right where the firebox meets the main chamber, up top, too. I haven't noticed any rust on the table hinge yet. My gasket is still in pretty good condition. It'll be two years next November since I took delivery of mine.
ОтветитьIt's a beaut Clark!
ОтветитьRy, I've had mine for 2 years and you're right, the key is to keep it clean (especially after each cook), well seasoned and it is easy to clean up. Mine is always covered and under a patio when not in use. I enjoy my 20x36 cooker while sitting under my patio with the fans on during the warm weather and sitting around my fire pit during the colder weather. I'm in North Texas and this was my birthday present to me from me.
ОтветитьSounds like a 9.99 out of 10.
ОтветитьYou get what you pay for. So no surprise it is holding up very well. Care helps too.... 🙂
ОтветитьSome good tips I never knew about! Thanks Ry!
ОтветитьI love my Lonestargrillz offset simply the best!
ОтветитьMaybe getting broken in by now.
ОтветитьRy is this one easier to use than an old country Brazos?
ОтветитьI remember when you got this Ry and really liked the build! I just wish I could afford to get one, but it won't be in the cards for me being retired now. Too much $$$ to justify getting it for just my wife and I. So my SNS will have to suffice! Love your channel!
ОтветитьWow, 3 years already!? Time sure does fly.
ОтветитьI really love LSG. You're so right, man; just a little TLC makes all the difference in a pit lasting your lifetime or ending up in the scrapyard! Cheers, Ry!
ОтветитьYou forgot to point out that the bottom of the wheels are always dirty........LOL
ОтветитьI'm about ready to buy my 1st house and this video You should repost every month... For new home owners wanting a good grill...I'm Looking now online... what's the link?
Ответитьi would obtain a new seal now, before the price goes up or their out of stock, then wait until I needed to replace it before diving in. You know, the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" saying. At least by having one on hand you know you got full life out of the original and don't have to worry about not being able to get one when you need it. My two cents. Looks like a great grill and we've seen the tremendous food coming off of it. Thanks for sharing.
ОтветитьYoder needs to take notes. Their paint is so bad they literally ship a can of spray paint with their cookers. Every piece of machinery needs care and maintenance. Gaskets are replaced easily by mere mortals. Rustoleum makes great high-heat paint. If that’s all that needs some TLC after three years, that’s amazing.
ОтветитьAwesome. I need a nice smoker. I have an order for a lone star santa maria and next will be a nice stuck burner smoker
ОтветитьWhat is the food grade oil called
ОтветитьNice to see you proving that good upkeep pays off. Sad to see so many folks that don't even cover their equipment.
ОтветитьCan you do a video on the fire management.. the size splits you use and so forth…. I’m still learning mine and I’m having issues try to keep the heat in a certain range.. I try to keep between 250 and 275 when cooking low and slow
Ответитьyou will die of old age before any of that will rust out. some great tips
ОтветитьI love the channel. However have you considered an epoxy spray paint on parts that dont contact food Rye? Some are an all-in- one as in kills rust and seals the metal And are weather resistant.
P.S. could you make a bbq stew?
I'm still loving mine as well. It's a beast! I'll need to try the mineral oil. Mine stays in the garage most of the time, so I haven't had any issues so far. Hope you are doing well, bro?
ОтветитьI have the same exact unit but I bought mine second hand and unfortunately the original owner didn't take as good of care of it as he should have. Mine has rust in the same spot between the firebox lid and cook chamber as well as quite a bit on top of the firebox (grilling) lid. Pro tip: don't dry out fire wood on top of the firebox - that's what the old owner said he did and it caused the paint to chip badly and once the paint was gone it started rusting. At some point I'm going to grind off the rust and repaint, just haven't had time yet.
ОтветитьI love my 20x42. I had a little rust where the top of the fire box meets the cook chamber. I think that area just gets really hot, making it hard on the paint. The rust wasn't too bad, but I wire brushed the loose paint and scrubbed it with Barkeeper's Friend, dried it very well and repainted with the LSG touch up paint. It has been fine since I did that, but I found that hitting just that area with canola spray works well. The canola bakes on more than mineral oil, keeping everything sealed up. I do use mineral oil on the rest of the grill.
ОтветитьWow, you've kept this BBQ in pristine condition. It looks fantastic!
ОтветитьThank you for the tips. I am curious how even it cooks across the bottom and top grates? Maybe you could do a biscuit test?
ОтветитьI can’t believe its been three years. Thats such a great looking pit. Cheers 🔥
ОтветитьWow if those are the issues after 3 years that things built beautifully
ОтветитьI’d love to buy anything you’re selling because if those are your concerns, you take care of things. I’ve had mine a yr and already replaced the gasket with a better one, melted the paint (while trying to season it) and scratched the heck out of just using it. I wouldn’t trade my 20X42
ОтветитьWhere do you purchase your splits from?
ОтветитьI tried to by 2 smokers from Lone Star Grillz but never could speak to anyone and I left voicemails and nobody bothered to call me back so I bought a Yoder pellet grill and a Mill Scale stick burner and couldn’t be happier!
ОтветитьI have the same smoker and have very similar issues at 3 years. It is time to replace the gasket soon as well, my shelf has some rust right around the very edges, much like yours and where you are missing paint, I have a little rust starting on the weld. That's it, though. LoneStarGrillz makes an excellent smoker!
ОтветитьThanks for the update, Ry! I just finally was able to purchase the 20 x 42 smoker today. You got me onto this smoker and appreciate all you do on your channel!
ОтветитьHas anyone done a biscuit test on this one? 20x42
ОтветитьI have a 20x42. Bought it about 2 years ago. I’ve had several “$1000” smokers and decided to try LSG. I say all that because I know how to maintain a CLEAN fire but I am getting “soot” on my food. I clean my smoker regularly and use hickory, oak and pecan. Airflow is good, smoke is clear most of the time (if it’s not clear it’s TBS). I dont know what’s going on. The exhaust (outlet) is wide open. I dont know if it’s the design..I dont know…….any help or suggestions? Thx
ОтветитьI’ve had mine for about a year and a half and love it! Waking up at 5 am, getting a cold beer, lighting the pit up and watching the sun rise is something I look forward to every weekend!
ОтветитьMan, I can’t believe it’s been three years Ry! I remember when you got it. You keep all your cookers in great shape. The LSG is a really well built smoker. Thanks for the update. Cheers!
