I grew up in Amish Country, they really are wonderful people, I was the big English to them..baled hay for them...they didn't pay much, but had a feast when the bales were put up. The kids were just kids, in school we didn't talk about Tv shows or radio. But on July 20th 1969, my dad and I sat up and watched the moon landing with a whole group of Amish school friends. Seems when it's history, Rules can be broken.

A few summers ago I went to Lake Erie with my family, I don’t know how to swim but I will get in a little near shore of course, there was an Amish family in the water asking me to come farther out with them and they would show me how to float, I was scared of the water and they helped me overcome it that day, we all laughed and joked that I never learned to swim, I’ll never forget that day. I’m still afraid of the water but they made it very bearable that day ❤

I remember I went to Yellowstone 2 years ago, and while we were hiking back up from the waterfall, a group of Amish women passed by.

It was the first time I ever saw Amish, and not gonna lie, I thought it was mad impressive that they could wear traditional Amish attire while hiking down a steep slope in pretty hot weather.

I saw an Amish family at Walmart a few days ago. We don’t see amish people around here very often.

Amish country here in Ohio “Berlin” an Millersburg They are both beautiful places an have wonderful people an food an treats an all those shops an I just love going in summer time to just drive down an catch all the fresh fruit an veggies an canned things i really an thankful for the amish community I have been going an visiting since I was a young girl with my granny an mom going there through the summer for fresh produce an some other things! we grow something’s our self to salsa an pasta sauces an can beans an peas corn pickled vegetables an pickles peaches apple sauce apple butter man so many things but I’m glad you visited an im sure you had a great time! It’s a wonderful place to be an very special place and nothing like being there I get so sad when it’s time to come back home to the city one day i will move down by there an buy a home am some land to grow things an help people and just be out of the city ya no!! I enjoy being there it will always be my favorite place an I call it my home away from home lol ❤ xoxo
