Venice has some unusual laws and rules - some official, some not. Hope you find this helpful to make the most of your stay!

It's still a magical city, isn't it, did you find it to be too touristy to enjoy, or OK?

I must be weird... I've been to Italy three times, but I've never thought of going to Venice somehow. Even though you didn't walk along the usual scenic places, it's still pretty (love the colour of the walls) I think it must be the water/canals that I'm not so keen about. You mentioned s'thing about it too... are there mosquitoes btw?😊

Thanks Yvonne & Mike, that was refreshing to see as it was true to life, unlike other imagery I've seen which has put me off visiting Venice 🙂
Still not a curry house in sight lol! 🤣
A warm welcome back to your dulcet tones Mike, it adds the extra dimension & the personal touch which walking tour videos from others lack.
Those rules & regulations are very useful to know, but is jaywalking illegal out there?! (Not that anyone can walk on water, except a certain historical character whose birthday is coming up next month!)
I hope your weekend is going well my friends 🤗

Hello there! Basically, if you do your research on any city, you'll get so much more out of it, and the do's and don'ts you list apply to most cities, towns (other than Glasgow, and Derby where I'm from!); I'm surprised some of them weren't just basic common sense, tbh. Venice, for example: watch Francesco De Mosto's documentaries on it beforehand, or read Goethe's Italian Journey - I'm sure there are more. I like how you say the dog knows where he's going i.e the tourists don't 😂.
Fantastic post, man 👍. Venice is one my favourite cities.

Excellent video I enjoyed it very much… I’m an Italian American… My father’s family were Venetian and came to America in 1920 so I always love the Venice videos…. Thank you … Greg

Its a horrible place. Overpriced, full of scammers including a lot of the restaurants, pick pockets everywhere, the police are acting as an arm of the scammers. Restaurants will charge tou whatever they want the police will be called and you will be forced to pay. It stinks too as the sewage drains into the canals and the tide goes out the smell is horrific. It was probably nice back in the days before mass tourism and the Italians realised they could fleece everyone. They can fine me all day they wont see a penny and nobody is going to extradite you for walking in way Italians don't like or some such BS. If you want to go to Italy go to the rural areas. The people there are wonderful.

I love Venice - it's my favourite place! I rented an airbnb in Cannaregio a couple of years ago. Perfect location - just outside the crowds of tourists but walking distance to the centre.
