The universe has a beginning. It had to have come forth from something in order to have a beginning. This is the nature of our material universe.
The truly amazing thing is that there is such a thing as existence.
Existence itself cannot have a beginning, for it would have to always come from something else that existed.
The "nature" of existence its self has to be eternal, always existent. The positively astounding fact is that this eternal state of being, which always existed, is God.

Col 2:8  Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
Col 2:9  For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
