Idk which button it was but you can change between targeting all and one enemy with the all materia. So it's not necessarily the first cast.

If you plan to do such runs in the future, I'd advice to take multiple Ice materia and combine each with different support materia - MP absorb, quadra magic, MP turbo, magic counter, steal as well, etc. Works best with Comet, but any magic works fine with such combo :)
And I envy you the patience, I'm not into challenge runs myself, so thank you for doing them, so I don't have to :D

11 minutes in read the description: "2. Solo (all party members can only Defend)." I can only assume this means everyone besides who is casting Ice, which apparently you only want 1 person to do. Sure that's another handicap. Why are you not healing, AT ALL, unless everyone else is dead? There is no explanation for this in the video. It just seems random whether or not you heal.

Primal Liquid would have done this while not using cure, items, and killing party members first for a TRULY SOLO experience.. just sayin'.

I forget how it works with regard to elemental resists/absorbs, but there is that one Enemy Skill that is Fire, Lightning, and most importantly Ice elemental at the same time. It might have done damage to enemies that absorb ice, but I genuinely forget the interaction.

Why you gotta be solo? Can't you just equip ice to the rest of the party?

For Schizo, couldn't you cast reflect on yourself and then it would be hit by its own spells?

I just finished this game yesterday and jenova synthesis killed herself. I had magic counter with knights of the round and a counter mime as well. I double cast that turn 1 and she died without me doing anything

Are people still arguing about the Aeris vs Aerith thing? We've had about 347 games/movies/books/collectible cereal bowls/etc. that all say Aerith. Literally the only source for "Aeris" is the OG English PS1 game, which had quite a few mistranslations.

I like the run but my only problem is the same as every other “solo” run where you have a party that’s alive it’s not solo if your other members can be hit

Why did you make it a Cloud Solo run on top of ice only? That just makes it even harder for no reason, especially since ff7 forces you to use other main characters.

How did you escape the first reactor after the scoprion battle? There are still enconters after the boss battle and there's no way you had enough ethers to give you MP for ice magic so you could fight your way out.

i thought there were no enemies weak to ice

How did you learn "Blade Beam" early in the run by only using ice?
