I mean it was heavily rumored that Edge was returning, so why is that even on the list? Why is Rey's Rumble return not on the list instead? That was a surprise.

Nah the Hardy’s really weren’t a surprise. Even if you at home didn’t know about it there were literally signs in the crowd and people were chanting their names before the match 😂

Nia Jax should never have been allowed to return, she's utter trash. Both as a person and in ring.

i think people forget that edges return was leaked, it was just so perceivably impossible no one expected it to happen.

Roman, Cena, and Nia Jax… Not really surprise returns. You left off AJ styles 2016, Dudley Boyz 2015, and even AOP returning this week is better then Nia Jax.

CM Punk in 2023 is number 1 for so many reasons. It’s so hard these days to keep returns from being leaked. Many fans knew that Punk was available, but no one was 100% certain his return to WWE was going to happen. So many wrestling bloggers speculated that he would return, but yet everyone was still shocked and surprised when it actually happened. That’s because CM punk was the person,, if anyone had ever thought, that would never step foot in WWE ever again due to so much bad blood.

Clearly you've only been watching since 2011. Eric Bischoff's arrival in 2003 (or 2002 cannot remember) was CLEARLY the biggest surprise. So much so that the crowd was completely gobsmacked for the whole promo.

The most surprising was Ultimate Warrior the first time he came back in 96 WWF I never thought I’d see Warrior in WWF again at least with Bret Hart we kind of knew after he was announced as being in HOF . cM Punk was kind of expected after he was fired from AEW even Edge was cleared by doctors and it was no secret he was coming back.

The only thing I may have re-watched more times than Edge's 2020 return is when Earnhardt got back in his car and drove away after flipping it at Daytona.

For me Reys return at the rumble will always be a good rerurn.
I dont remember there being any talk about his return...all i know is watching that ppv and seing Rey come back was sick. Reys always been one one favs so i was stoked too see him come back.

Edge's is my favorite. Certainly the most emotional.

Being at the 2020 Royal Rumble for Edge's return was insane. One of the loudest pops of crowd I've ever been a part of. The roof could've literally blown off and I wouldn't have been surprised.

Sadly Roman will retain his title against The Rock at Elimination Chamber.

WWE has done same thing with John Cena, Brock Lesnar and Randy Ortan will also face the same thing…

The Rock in 2011 was hardly a surprise. The entire crowd was chanting Rocky and everyone had been predicting him all week. Would have been a bigger surprise if it had been anyone but the Rock.
