Jeff, you'll have to filter out the cat poop from the back yard paydirt. It might get stopped in customs for biohazardous organics lmfao.
I've seen a few vids on the claw and it always confused me on how you could get a good idea of a sample area when you put so little in the pan, or maybe it's one of those types of pans similar to the Doc's Cyber truck pan where you fill it, shake it then fill it, shake it etc, time consuming and not very efficient. For me Garrett wins through and through.

Welp we're heading out next week for the Grand Canyon and me and the boys are going to be looking for some shiny in the sands I think.
We're still trying to find a place closer to the canyon to do some detecting.

I was able to share with our grandsons and now we're taking it to the field.

I thought the Gold Claw pans were a joke but watched the dude at a gold show, learned the proper technique. Went to the trough and pulled a 1/2 gram in 8 pans with lots of black beach sand. Bought the set and It’s now my go to pan set. The large production pan works faster than the Garrett super sluice, sidewhich I now use as a safety pan. No classification, and as long as you keep it totally submerged and rock it side then reverse to clean up the final amount I can out pan myself from a regular pan. I use the size you used for my hibanker/sluice clean ups. When I check my safety pan I am constantly amazed.

You have to constantly stratifiy with the gold claw gold pan. I like using the gold fox gold pan with the fading ripples. Or the blue estwing gold pan.

The Garrett Super Sluice is a great pan, as is the Gold Claw. I have used both, and alternate depending on what 'job' I'm trying to do. I find it much easier to see flour gold that is down to the limits of the naked eye with my black Gold Claw production pan (way bigger than the one in this video). The pan has caught gold so small it's only visible with my 10X jeweller's loupe. I also use small black 8 or 10 inch pans when panning hard rock crush. Garrett Green is fine for placer as the gold tends to be bigger than hard rock crush. P.S. As others have said, there are plenty of videos on YT showing the proper technique for using the Gold Claw.

Small claw pan is for rice the larger one is for sushi rolls.

Jeff, that mini pocket pan is fantastic at separating the gold from the black sand. I carry one in my backpack it’s light small and effective!

Either the traditional round pans are the best option for the amount of material each one will hold. That Tesla thing….would be a better step stool. Can I come pan your tailings? That’s a goldmine !
