Congratulations on the PB! I just found your channel a week or so ago and have been loving your videos - looking forward to more :-) I just broke out the carbon shoes after a long winter in winter spikes, and I've got to admit it's great seeing my splits suddenly get faster! From an Aussie in Norway
Ответить🎉🎉🎉🙌🏼🙌🏼💪🏼💪🏼awesome congrats
ОтветитьThat shoe alone shaved 30 secs of my pb
Ответитьbro! thats huge! congratz! on your pb! these week i did my first 5k sub 30 at 29 min and was awefull i cant imagine doing it on 18 min xD keep the good work!
ОтветитьMuch prefer 'Jog On' and Harry to the Nick Bester' look at me' vlogs as they seem more down to earth and sincere to me.The episode of Bester' and a motley crew running in the Dulwich park run evading cats,dogs,lardies,octogenarians...women with pushchairs, you name it whilst trying to run an elite PB was well over the top.😅
ОтветитьWell done on the PB !! Definitely more to it than the shoes. Keep the videos coming. Love your channel. You're a natural with the camera 🤩
ОтветитьOMG your father did the most beautiful Park Run in New Zealand in Queenstown so great to see hope he did a video.
Is he doing any others? If I’m Auckland he should try Barry Curtis or Western Springs
I used to think carbon shoes are bs until I raced in a pair... 🤣
ОтветитьWell done Harry! You can definitely smash 18 mins! I am currently training for sub 25 so it's great to follow your journey!
ОтветитьWell done Harry, there was also a Jog on representation at Keswick this week.
ОтветитьMore then 20 years ago I run marathon pb 2.16 and that time we dont have super shoes and using only casio watch no gps😂 and now days I run marathon 2.32 with super shoes 🤣 so am be only slower with have super shoes 😂
ОтветитьI think you can shave off another 30-60s with just training, but more than that you might need to slim down a bit.
You're a big fella, there's not a lot of sub 19 guys with the size of yours. I bet there were some slim dudes that you beat in that parkrun.
Wow, well done! I have been experimenting with carbon shoes as well, but personally I really don't think they make much difference, at least at my kind of level. In my view it is more down to the new foams which have been developed. The main benefit, I feel, is that my legs don't feel as trashed after a race or harder training session.
ОтветитьDear Harry
I was running that Accrington 10k this weekend and good to be passed by a Jog in t shirt had a chat with the guy in the shirt a very nice chap great to hear he was pushing the Jog on theme for the north West
Awesome Harry
ОтветитьAll those turns must slow you down.
ОтветитьNice run and cool channel. I am the ‘pram-man’ in this and a friend told me about this video!
ОтветитьPram man is my brother in law and I can confirm my niece is still in one piece
ОтветитьMan every video from you is documentary quality!! I could watch this on the national television. All of your videos motivate me and are super enjoyable, keep up the good work!
ОтветитьReally hoping there's a Manchester based meet up at some point!
ОтветитьWell done 👏 How many miles you running a week at the moment Harry ?
ОтветитьThat looked like an 80% run for you!
ОтветитьHi Harry, I've just completed my first park run, and I loved it! I was inspired by you and your great videos. Thank you :)
ОтветитьExmouth is such a good parkrun. Flat and loads of cafes to choose from afterwards. I will be investigating carbon shoes now....
ОтветитьBased on how easy it was to talk during the race I’d say it was the not the fastest you could do, crazy to think given it was already so fast.
ОтветитьLegend
ОтветитьNice shoes and a great time. But you don't happen to know where I could get some running merch do you?
ОтветитьAwesome video! I didn’t realise carbon soles were available retail. Been looking for some replacements for my kayanos, can’t wait to give these a crack.
ОтветитьTop man Harry super video 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🍀
ОтветитьThe father!
ОтветитьI was the man in the gloriously pink carbon shoes! Congrats on the pb, I set one at the time in this Parkrun aswell 😁
ОтветитьWell done 👏🏼
ОтветитьGenuinely didn’t think trainers would make a difference. Then a Parkrun partner came to my local Parkrun yesterday. I signed up to try a pair of their trainers after watching this video this week (not Hoka). Finally went sub 21mins in a Parkrun and took 22 seconds off my Parkrun PB. Looks like I need to invest more in my running shoe.
Ответитьwow, exmouth on top
ОтветитьA 18 min 5k is amazing. When you see him run, it looks like he is barely moving! I must look slow as, when doing it in 23min!
ОтветитьI really don't understand how this channel only has 36k subs. Sending love from Massachusetts!
ОтветитьI love the Parkrun each Saturday morning down here in Rhodes Homebush Bay Sydney, thanks for the great content very interesting.
ОтветитьUnderrated channel❤
ОтветитьHarry, what’s your best piece of advice for someone who needs at good time at a 5k with absolutely no prior training? I am 22 years old and haven’t ran in 4 years. I made a bet with my coworker that I could run a certain time just off sheer will with no training whatsoever. Any advice on prepping for this? Also if you think this is silly, I completely understand. But it won’t stop me. Lmk, thanks.
ОтветитьI bought a pair of Saucony Endorphin Pro 3 (weight 235g) in late December 2022 but never used them until the Great Birmingham 10K in May this year, reason being I got injured in Feb 2023 and again later in the year, and also I wanted to get my times down to a certain level in my regular trainers first, a pair of UK Nike Zoom Fly 4 (over 100g heavier) before I ran in them. Prior to this, I'd not even walked in them apart from in the shop when I tried them on before buying, and I noticed they made a very squelchy sound on contact with the pavement. My times did drop but not by as much as I was expecting, as I'd be expecting to improve anyway as I became more race-fit. However, I'm running the Birmingham Black Country Half Marathon in a month's time, and I ran almost 8 mins faster in a time trial over that distance wearing them this week as opposed to my time in the UK Nike Zoom Fly 4 the previous week.
ОтветитьHow many seconds per km faster do they make you ?
Ответитьyou could push yourself much further if you would put away the camera and literally run, so you couldn't even talk. But judging by your talking, you were running at like 80-85% pace
