I knew you could do it! Sweet Blossom is starting to learn to trust you, like Holly did with us. Even though there's water outside, you could put a water bowl next to her food. It may encourage her to trust you if you're taking care of her needs. I love the blankets as decor. I would call that practical decorating. Just like the shelves in the kitchen. Everything is usable, easy to get to and practical. The car show looked like fun. When I was a tiny girl, in the late 60's-very early 70s, we has a VW bus. I wonder if it's still around somewhere. Don't worry about putting together contrived videos. Just come as you are, and do what you do.😊

I saw a glass-doored cabinet on FB Marketplace today and thought it would be a perfect place to stack my quilts, but I DON'T HAVE ANY PLACE TO PUT IT!! I was still thinking about it when I watched you stacking your blankets in this video, and now I'm thinking I should get it!

I like the quilt library! It's a great idea to display the things you love and use. I understand you don't have a lot of time with your new job. So why not decorate first and present the end result later? Saves you time and stress and it still be a great video! 😊 can you put up a shelve above the microwave? At the same depth as the cupboard? I saw adhesive shelves would that be a solution for decorating? You have to check the weight of course I also saw people hanging picture frames with command strips. I know they're a bit pricey but it's an alternative and it can brighten up the living room?? Lovely video!

My childhood home 🇨🇦 was built in 1975- Looking back, we had an interesting amount of closets for a 3 bedroom bungalow (4, plus all the bedroom closets, and a linen closet inside the bathroom!) but I remember us keeping potato chips in the narrow “vacuum closet”.. along with the vacuum. Lol 👀 You go ahead and keep those Doritos wherever you need to! 😆

I decorate small areas too. It usually coincides with some sort of exploration I'm doing. For example an area for flowers I'm drying mixed with handmade and vintage decor. Smaller areas of my place are always changing. I look at it like a studio. It's always in flux. I also mix in vintage decor with the shelving of practical useful items. Then I see my practical items and use them plus they are beautiful. I like your ideas and your place is looking lovely.

Love all your purposeful decorating! I too am going through a transition and am taking a critical eye at what I have for each season/holiday. Only the joyful get to stay😊 As I decorate from one to the next I pack away things in a certain area together and label. Then the next time around it ready and easier to decorate. I really appreciate and enjoy a slower more realistic approach to decorating and styling. If it helps, whenever I watch videos where they do it all in one go I actually feel kind of sad because when I go to watch videos I like coming back for more inspiration and ideas, and that only means I know it will be like several months - year before they maybe revisit decorating that space (because duh), so it’s much more fun for me to have little bits here and there and watching it grow 💛💛:)

So here’s a question you may not want to answer. I volunteer at a thrift shop and several vintage polyester and cotton pieces/yardages come in regularly. Would you like them? They don’t sell but I could send them to you if you have a seamstress or use for another purpose? I hate putting them in the recycle bin when they’re so lovely!

I remember back in my younger years when decorating my 1st home. I bought a toilet seat cover and small bathroom rug. It gave me a new lease on life!! Was so happy kept walking past bathroom and seeing how good it looked.

Last summer my mom, sister, and I did a mystery bus trip. Our second stop of the day was the Gilmore Car Museum. Now.. at first we were NOT thrilled but decided to keep an open mind. And honestly i LOVED it!! I could have spent so much more time there. Especially with the 20-40's areas. And we ate at the diner as well. The food was great!

I also have a set of those colored stacking spice tubs. My favorite color is orange and brown and my entire kitchen are the colors of those tubs.
I also have an entire drawer of almost entirely orange baking items. Like the vintage orange Tupperware measuring cups. I have 2 different orange color sets. One set was even my moms.

You should look into getting a vintage Lane hope chest. Its a god send for blanket and pillow storage.
We have so many that we had to get space bags to fit them all in it,lol

You have got to check out the vintage VW car show in Frankenmuth. Its during the Bavarian festival and is a lot of fun.

We just went to a Volkswagen car show in our area. It was so cool! Mostly old vans and beetles, all vw. They even had vendors, I got a few ads from the 60s I plan to frame soon.

Just my thoughts, but I always have messes when I decorate. Especially when I set up/ take down Christmas. I actually relate better to folks who just keep it real. Love your collection of vintage!!
