Ayaka got that one rerun banner with unusually pretty lengthy time, so people got more opportunity to pull for her, that's one of the reason why she has the most sale.

I was about to ask why the Hu Tao Yelan banner was not at the top, then I realized when this video was made...

It should be noted that Kokomi was already very good at release, people were just too stupid to understand back then. In Abyss, though, she was already at top usage and top win rate, despite being put really low on tier lists. She has pretty much held top 5 since her release, and still people claim she is bad. I am actually pretty sure Kokomi had a very large part in making the Raiden Kokomi banner successful as well.

I believe majority of the player base relies on content creators when trying to decide if they will pull for a character on not.
For example, if 4.0 Lyney/Yelan banner does really well, is it because of Lyney or Yelan? Based on the trend I was exposed to, it is most likely Yelan as people were yet to be sure of Lyney's strength and advised against pulling for him. Personally, I think it was the same with Hu Tao, no one knew how good she was in the beginning but her popularity spiked as soon as people discovered it.

Me here when I came back to Genshin after lunch puller for Ayaka,Yoimiya not knowing anything about them just based on design and Japanese VA as for Ei just her design very similar to Raikou was enough for me to pull for her and then her VA and gameplay

The reason Keqing had a banner in 1.3 was because of lantern rite. It was the equivalent of Chinese new year in Genshin and having hutao, a death related character was not appropriate. Out of the 5 standard characters Diluc Jean and Mona are all from Mondstat, Qiqi is a dead zombie, and Keqing is the only appropriate character for lantern rite.

So its been a year - I joined right at the tail end of Yelans first banner

My first limited was Itto, with his weapon - during his rerun

My second was Yoimiya, because I wanted a better pyro character (And she now does the most damage out of any of my characters)

I took a month off - meaning I missed Alhaithams rerun, and I rejoined at the start of the current event. I was aiming for kokomi but..

I got eula. She - along with wanderer and Yoimiya - do the most damage.

all the x.5 characters are bad meta-wise. Eula, Yae, Dehya are all pretty mid. Hopefully this doesn't continue for Fontaine

Had Kazuha on his first banner on my old main account. It got hacked around Sumeru's release thanks to some data leak or whatever.

Eula is my all time favorite genshin character and will always be I really do not care about the other characters i love physical characters and Eula is the perfect one for me it just pains me to see such a beautiful loving tragic and physical character like Eula is not getting the attention she deserves and the one like Raiden Does NOT deserve the popularity she gets she is the most overrated character I played her she is one of the most boring character ive played the only reason shes so popular is that her looks which ti me is nothing special and the amount of times she is getting Reruns it’s just unfair to others characters and players that aren’t a little turd only wanting what’s popular or trending because they have no taste. all im saying is that Eula is Not getting the attention she deserves because or Hoyo’s stupid Rerun patterns and this pathetic new generation of players that just want what everyone else wants or what’s trending or popular. For me personally im NOT a follower i like the things I like because thats who i am I don’t like it just because its popular or trending or its that meta I don’t Give a crap. I play the thing I want to play not because other people say you should only play this or that. Like What you actually like. Eula deserves to be in the spotlight again and deserves all the love im so tired of these new characters getting so much attention and they literally have no character to them but people still like them justice because there meta. Hoyo is creating there on Enemy and soon it will show the game will die off before they actually make a change to the way they do characters and there play style.

Well, Kazuha is getting a re-run very soon, and yes, I'm saving some primos for him. He has very good crowd control and I can pre-grind for him. I already lost a 50/50 to Tighnari (He's still good) by not getting ganyu, so hopefully I'll get Kazuha.
